Brosnan got it right in "Goldeneye", which I think is one of the best Bonds ever, top 3, and though nostalgia plays a role, (I was 9 in 1995) and the subsequent videogame, I really think it was one of the best interpretations of the franchise, and very close to what Craig is now doing.

"Goldeneye" is my favorite Bond movie and Brosnan was the Bond for me. I was 8 when that movie came out. I still check it out every now and then. Great movie.

Nostalgia doesn’t do it for me with Bond. For the most part anyway. Goldeneye should be my favorite since it’s the first I saw but my favorite is either casino royale or from Russia with love. He’s okay but definitely underperformed

Pierce was a good Bond but Goldeneye is only good in memory (nostalgia from being my first Bond movie) and the others were just not good at all.

Yeah pretty much. And his interpretation of Bond never stuck. He plays him differently in each of his four movies. I may not like all of roger Moore’s movies but outside of the man with the golden gun, he sticks to an interpretation and that makes a world of a difference. Pierce’s Bond is different in goldeneye than he is in tomorrow never dies than he is in the world is not enough than he is in die another day, so it’s hard to ground the movies in any consistency when your main guy can’t land on something he likes.

I wonder if that was him or behind the scenes interference

He says it was him. The bond producers are hands off when it comes to how you play bond. Obviously they have to approve of the script and the director and direction of a movie and the franchise overall but they let the lead guy do his thing and he’s a partner. He gets to be a part of the creative process if he chooses to be.

Pierce is my favorite outside of OG Connery (of course). He loved playing Bond and you can tell swag , comedy, fun was all there. I can't stand Craig dude is a constant sour puss and changed Bond to something we don't recognize. Other than Casino Royale all of the other ones are forgettable and a big blur to me. Its time for new blood.

Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond for me

If he didnt get fukked over by the cheesiness of early/mid 2000's movies writing and terrible puns he'd be the GOAT undisputed bond :yeshrug:

he actually had personality and charisma for bond. nobody had the swagger on lock like him since sean connery :hubie:

I been saying this Brosnans swag was off the charts during his run

@2 Up 2 Down here's the interview i keep referencing with Pierce

Pierce Brosnan: My James Bond was 'never good enough'

"I felt I was caught in a time warp between Roger [Moore] and Sean [Connery]," said Brosnan. "It was a very hard one to grasp the meaning of, for me. The violence was never real, the brute force of the man was never palpable. It was quite tame, and the characterisation didn't have a follow-through of reality, it was surface. But then that might have had to do with my own insecurities in playing him as well."

They threw an ungodly amount of M's at him.
But no money Penny's :krs:

As far Craig's bond goes, the Nigerian opening sequence in casino royal and the third act of skyfall is the only thing worth talking about

I never saw quantum but I hear it aint worth the film its printed on

Pierce Brosnan: My James Bond was 'never good enough'
GoldenEye - good Sean bean was a great troll, and famke in that bathhouse

Tommorow never dies - can't remember much of it, other than Michelle yeoh, but it was good enough

World is not enough - forgettable, but I thought Christmas only comes once a year, denise Richards as a nuclear physicist :weirdo:

Die another day - heatrocks, famke in that sauna still better than Halle coming out the water though, come at me

Was it really Brosnan...taking nothing from him, he's arguably my favorite Bond...but the Scripts and stunts became progressively more outlandish...by the 3rd Brosnan flick it became Fast and the Furious before the fast and the Furious...
They had them European cars running around that ice castle, no drifting required
