Man, maybe I'm just getting old and bitter bit I'm not feeling Grizzly Bear or Tame Impala THAT hard. I like them both enough that I will be copping the physical album, but neither one really was good enough that I would call a must-listen.

Tame Impala to me has that sound that I love and need, but there is just nothing here that pops to me like Half Full Glass of Wine, Solitude Is Bliss, Desire Be Desire Go, or any other of the numerous tracks I have grown to love of theirs.

I typically find Grizzly bear albums to be half classic, half filler and this one is no exception other than this time the filler is a bit weaker. But the classic songs on it are holy shyt good...probably the best music of the year.

Let's just say it like this: The first 4 tracks on this are actually pretty damn good and worth tracking down on their own. Everything else is kind of crap and the same dullness that has become a Grizzly Bear trademark. I wouldn't call it the best music of the year by any stretch, but "Sleeping Ute," Speak in Rounds" and "Yet Again" are worth listening to on their own, which is progress for me.

On another note, the Teengirl Fantasy album was a far sight better than I would have thought. Just proves my theory that anything with the name "Laurel Halo" attached to it in the tracklisting can't be anything but pretty good at worst. Seriously, go listen to it now.

Don't know how to embed yet, but this mix is telling me good things. Progressive house type of joint, but it's making studying a breeze.

I wasn't feeling a lot of the new 'alt' music coming out this year, but the new Tame Impala :ahh: I was very disapointed with their live show last time. But if they tour around Europe in the next couple of months I'm gonna be there for sure!

Yo, that Tame Impala has already went from :ld: to :whew: in two listens. I had unreasonable expectations which hurt the first listen, but this is whoa

Man, this might be contending for AOTY....

I really want to check this dude out. I love all the singles I hear on Sirius XMU, and I love the samples I heard of that album with Woods earlier.

From what I gather, this dude is prolific with his work output. What is the absolute best stuff to check out...and also, got an links :shaq:

he does put out a fair amount of stuff. i'd start with his solo albums Melted and Goodbye Bread, and the album he did as The Ty Segall band called Slaughterhouse. if you like those, start checking out more of the singles and splits he's released and his work with other projects.

no links, but those 3 albums shouldnt be too hard to find

How To Dress Well's new album is streaming on Complex and it is :ooh:

Wasn't really in love with the first one but I pre-ordered this one after hearing it once.
