Just make a new franchise, come up with your own ideas. I'd feel the same if people were like "Let's make an all black *insert older film*" Why? Just do a story that you came up with. "But we want fans to latch on to a black character" Well, CREATE ONE and run with it.

I fully expect an all female Fast and Furious, an all gay male SCREAM and all trans Do the Right the Thing in the coming years.
