What was the largest sustained organized protest in recent memory before Occupy though?

While it didn't directly change anything materially, I don't see how people can view it as a total failure. I'd argue the 2018 midterms and string of freshmen congress members owe some of the momentum of the Blue Wave to Occupy.

Biden out here talking about raising taxes on the wealthy don’t happen if not that day, and you got people demanding changes to the financial order.

It just shows that America is a right wing country by nature. In its history there has never been any left movements as robust and rigorous as the ones outside of America. The Civil War was prolly the closest thing to a left leaning revolution in America and it was an incomplete one by the standard metric.
