If Obama had grown to be as successful as married a white woman, there'd be the "successful black man treating white women as a prize" conversation even though he was raised by a white mother.

No discussion of turning your back against the kind that raised you and all that.

It seems like a complicated situation but when you look at it objectively yes people should be talking about that as self hate but that talk would have to come from white people (white women specifically). They probably haven't complained in large numbers because its not that big of a deal to them. There seems to be a lot of gray areas (no pun intended) in cases like this.
