-Passed individual mandate healthcare reform that they've pushed at various times for the past 40 years.

-Killed Qaddafi.

-Killed Bin Laden.

-Expanded the national security apparatus larger than ever.

-Increased federal spending at a lower rate than any President since Dwight Eisenhower.

-Passed a $300 billion middle class tax cut.

-Expanded and increased offshore drilling.

-Deregulated IPOs.

-Proposed cuts to social security that will probably go through during the major next budget negotiation.

:ohhh: Why isn't he seen as on par with Reagan by Republicans?

Because they are racist, greedy fukkers who keep pulling the country more and more right with every election.

They are god damn geniuses.

That Republican also...

Advocated for gay rights, repealing DADT

Gave partial amnesty to immigrants

Sunk billions into green energy programs and promoting clean tech

Sunk millions into HBCUs and college education for minorities

Expanded Medicaid...which helps minorities.

Expanded food stamps etc...which helps minorities.

Narrowing the sentencing for cocaine offenders...which helps blacks.

 a Republican caring about poor folks/minorities...he's the greatest Republican EVER.

Which part did you not like?

I love social programs, but some of my AA brothers in here are always throwing around the fact that welfare and food stamps are mainly used by whites.

Also, from a philosophical standpoint, I understand the reasons why social nets should exist, and I agree with them, but should we be cheering the fact that we now have more people on them, especially minorities?

You may have a point about the long term impacts of social programs and thats worthy for a healthy debate...but I was referring to short term...

Since the recession, the GOP stay wanting to throw people off UI, food stamps etc...basically telling them to kick rocks during the height of the recession...until a certain Republican president and his pals stopped them that is. :obama:

No matter what 'side' throws a president in there, it will always benefit corporations. All of these corporate friendly bills will pass by the slimmest of margins to make it actually look like there is dissent... but they will still pass. This is why I am not surprised the healthcare mandate passed.
