I can understand not agreeing with his polocies, but by not voting you are waiving your right to have a voice in the direction of this country. And if it all goes to shyt you can't complain cause you didn't try to make a difference anyway.

You are assuming he isn't voting for a third party or write in voting.

well, yeah, i figured that after the first year of watching him run around trying to appease cacs. he had a super majority and fukked it off trying to be bipartisan

The fukk is a super majority?:what:

Go back and see how many progressive Bills Pelosi passed that died in the Senate. He needed 2 republicans and Joe Lieberman to pass anything. Not to mention the other conservative democrats.

And Politico is trash :snoop:

He could say "I'm the President of Black America, but I'm also the president of White, Asian, Latino, and Native America. I represent All Americans"

Do you guys even read the actual articles? Come on bro.
I want all Americans to have opportunity. I’m not the president of black America. I’m the president of the United States of America, but the programs that we have put in place have been directed at those folks who are least able to get financing through conventional means, who have been in the past locked out of opportunities that were available to everybody. So, I’ll put my track record up against anybody in terms of us putting in place broad-based programs that ultimately had a huge benefit for African American businesses.

:what: What exactly is wrong with this statement:
My general view has been consistent throughout, which is that I want all businesses to succeed. I want all Americans to have opportunity. I’m not the president of black America. I’m the president of the United States of America, but the programs that we have put in place have been directed at those folks who are least able to get financing through conventional means, who have been in the past locked out of opportunities that were available to everybody. Wtf is wrong with some of y'all? :smh:

This declaration by Obama is just a dog whistle (exactly like the ones Romney does that make most of y'all go apoplectic) to a certain subsection of white folks to try and convince them that voting for him won't equal a second term full of reparations and enhanced Affirmative Action.
:rudy:  That wasn't no damn dog whistle. I think if the Obama people wanted to aim a dog whistle at working class white people, he would probably choose a better, larger and more accessible forum than a print interview with Black Enterprise magazine.

He was asked directly about whether or not he's done enough for black business and he said he hopes all businesses succeed and he's not the President of black people. Then he went to say that his administration has been trying to get financing for businesses for locked out economically and that would help black businesses.

It was a standard, coached, fluff statement from a politician with very little substance, but it wasn't a dog whistle. You are really fukking stretching with that one.

It is said in BE because when is any other outlet going to ask him about black people? And once the interview is given it becomes part of the mainstream media so while it was done for a niche mag it doesn't become some lost quote that no one will ever see.
Also he's a pol in the middle of an election trying to secure all of the votes that he can and one of the most elusive is that blue collar white person vote that tends to see a black dude as president and feel uneasy about voting for him primarily because they have the ignorant notion in their head that he will legislate solely for his own while screwing them over. So in that context I don't find it a stretch to think he had a larger goal in mind than just answering a question by the BE interviewer.
But fine I will give Obama the benefit of the doubt and say there were no poltiical motives behind the statement but it does strike me as odd that he never publicly states he isn't the president of gay/Latino/jewish America; he only says that shyt in reference to black folks.
