It's WWE. When those cameras are on they need you to believe that they are fundamentally different on every topic.

But then when someone brings up their net worth they don't want to talk any more.

To become a politician you need to have ego. You need to believe that you alone are uniquely blessed with the mind and skills to change the world. That kind of ego when mixed with power can make a person fall out of touch with the people they are supposed to be helping.

There's a contempt for ones fellow man that comes when one has stood at heights they won't reach. When the rich and powerful look at people, they see rodents. Some see us as potential pets that can be conditioned into submitting and amusing them like rats running in exercise wheels. Others see us as vermin that need to be kept in a specific area and kept away from them.

But both see the public as a burden and a nuisance they have to tolerate. What they really want is to be around wealth and power. They've tasted it and are addicted. They will never be the same. You can like these people and think they're impressive, but never make the mistake of believing they empathize or care about your problems enough to risk their own success and power to improve our lives. They feel disgusting when they try to relate to us and imagine being powerless and poor. They can't stand that shyt, and if they made it out of the lower middle class all they see when they look at us is the hell they escaped from. And when they know we will not rise to the heights they did, they feel disgusted like "you're not even trying. Pathetic."

These people don't want to be your friends. They don't want to go to your parties or cookouts. They care about you only in so much that showing compassion for the weak makes them feel like they are beyond reproach and any sort of criticism. It's a psychological shield they deploy, and it works.
