The real problem NOW is our lack of even being aware that we are being systematically oppressed and discriminated against. We have no idea that there's a problem or an enemy. We dont know about media propaganda. We dont know about circulating our money within our OWN communities. Positive images and messages aren't being seen and heard by the youth resulting in lowered self esteem and a smaller circumference of awareness. Kids arent being shown any other possibilities besides athlete, rapper or dopeboy. Knowledge of our history(and past enslavement) is being forgotten which is resulting in us being comfortable in our current state. Education and family isn't being glorified and promoted the way negativity and ignorance is. To sum it up, our current biggest problem is not even knowing there's a problem. This current hiphop/"turn up" culture is keeping us in a dumbed down mindstate collectively

I've yet to see you or @PhonZhi adress the real issues that plague parts of the black community. You guys are simply parroting the same Fox News rhetoric to blame rap music

I hated this song….My reasons are that, on a strictly musical basis, it is utterly uninspired, and insultingly generic, and besides that….OT Genasis speaks with zero authenticity, or originality, and now has this song, glorifying a life he never led, being played by others, who in turn never lived that life. If you want to speak on that subject, speak on it….but be original, or be authentic, share your perspective, don't just appeal to the lowest common denominator audience…..

for the record, "the Man" was played on urban radio stations. I know for a fact that Hartford played that shyt all the time and when I was in NYC it was on all the time also.

People in here just saying shyt just to say it. :shaq2:

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. Its mainly what we're known for whether we like it or not. Just overall negativity and "ratchetness" is what we're known for. Dont get mad at me, im just holding the mirror up:ld:

What we're known for has always been negative stereotypes. You are not holding up a mirror, you are repeating racist propaganda.
