2018 to 2019
It was a year of narratives. It was a year of loud mouth sports journalists. It was a year of froggy brehs waiting to pounce on a city and team that was excited about the youth development while everyone else talked about inside scoops on free agency for clout. It was a year of the worst performing team in the league being bigger news than every other team not in the finals. I see how that creates hate.

What is HATE?

HATE is looking at the potential choices the Knicks could have made:

DAMNED IF WE DO:

PRESS PLAY BEFORE CLICKING THAT SPOILER, CHIEF

  1. Knicks under pressure by Janis Porzingis as a result of Phil Jackson's toxicity, decide to placate KP's camp and make the moves he would have wanted. Knicks also offer KP the MAX.
Knicks should offer a KP who is recovering from a torn ACL a MAX deal, ha/
You would not worry about how Lee and Timmy's contracts eating up the cap you need would make you feel, ha/
You would just ignore the threats to reject the qualifying offer made by KP's team, ha/
Cuz the potential PR nightmare is worth the risk for a "That's So Knicks" pipedream, ha?

  2. Knicks don't trade KP at the deadline and the rape allegations come out as well as KP's unhappiness with being a Knick. Now that offseason hits and trying to make NY look like it isn't a circus, OFFSEASON is when NY tries to trade KP.
Knicks should believe KP's value will be high with all this drama, ha/
Teams would look at a disgruntled KP w/ a torn ACL and think trading for him would take them farther, ha/
You ain't concerned the contracts on the books would stop Knicks from signing KD's friends like the Deandre's and Kryie's, ha/
You acting like a KP trade wouldn't get the Knicks fleeced by the Masai's and Riley's, ha?

  3. Knicks appraise their assets and decide to go into a bidding war w/ Boston and LA for AD. Knicks listen to every "insider" who claims Durant's mother is their source and believe KD/Kyrie are definitely coming and offer every young prospect on the team for AD.
    You the smart CEO, ha/
You don't give a fukk about what Scott Perry know, ha/
You thinking fukk a culture of development cuz you got assets to blow, ha/
You too hardheaded to see how trading Zion or Barrett is what makes the trolling of the team grow, ha?

  4. Somehow, the Knicks haters were right all along; KP would have signed the MAX offer from NY. And KD would have signed the MAX offer from NY. But, unable to move Timmy's contract, Knicks roster looks like ?, Timmy, Barrett, KD, KP, ?.
You know what the elephant in the room is, ha/
You know we'd be pressured to package the no. 3 pick w/ Timmy in order for him to be moved, ha/
You cool w/ a potential rookie star not being in NY when he blooms, ha/
You're sure that the season ending injuries of Timmy, KP and KD wouldn't mean the Knicks roster would be doomed, ha, you let them white boys give you shrooms, ha, you must be higher than the moon, ha?

  5. Somehow, if the Knicks listened to the Coli, the Knicks should have DEFINITELY had KP, KYRIE and KD on next years roster. And the Knicks would be praised.
You somehow could fix your face to say with this, there is no way NY really loses, ha/
You sure the trolls would say that roster would make the new team name the New York Knicks and Bruises, ha/
If Scott Perry disagrees, you make threads saying he's clueless, ha, you think he knew this, ha, you really can't look in the mirror and see that you stupid, ha?

You paper chaser, you got your block on fire, remaining a G until the moment you expire, you know what it is to make nothing outta something, you handle your biz...

DAMNED IF WE DON'T:
breaking-down-the-current-new-york-knicks-depth-chart.jpg

We clearly didn't do any of the above.

  • We signed over the hill veterans to long term deals.
We made smart, flexible acquisitions to a spectrum of young, solid talent and solid veterans. Contracts that ALL end in a team option and ALL end before the 2021 Free Agency hits.

  • We panicked and, as rumors indicated, made lucrative offers to Boogie Cousins, Tobias Harris and Kemba Walker just to save face and make it seem like we were making an offseason splash.
We opted not to go the treadmill route and, instead, decided to reaffirm our focus on developing the young players on our team and trying to get them to reach whatever ceiling they have.

  • We offered Kevin Durant a long term MAX deal without seeing a detailed prognosis on his injury and recovery and gambling on a non-strategic approach to our future. We prepared for the unexpected criticism and we made the internal decision to hold our future close to the chest and let Durant's camp know that we would potentially offer the MAX if we were able to see the medicals and risked an unhappy response from KD's camp which resulted in no chance at a meeting. We missed out on the CHANCE at the franchise altering quick fix but gained ground in having alot of flexibility and patience to foster a successful future as a professional organization.

  • We continued to try to placate KP. We continued to try to seduce a disgruntled KP and prepared for the leaks of KP's unhappiness to make the organization look like the unprofessional franchise that we are trying to get away from. We gambled on the hit to KP's value resulting from the rape allegations, the unhappiness and the destination list knowing they would all hamstring our options to move him. We met with KP and as soon as Janis Porzingis attempted his strong arm, we pulled the plug on negotiating with terrorists and made the decision to move KP before any leaks could damage our return. We traded KP for the capability to be players in the free agency market, but ALSO for the acquisition of a young prospect in DSJ and future picks. All of which now have the Knicks being the team that has more future picks than any other NBA organization.

  • We tried to be cute and attempted to leverage our no. 3 draft pick for a risky return. We chose the best player available and resisted trading ANY of our young players. We ended up picking RJ Barrett who happens to have a backstory that genuinely shows we chose a prospect who wants to play here and his a hard worker.
  • We made acquisitions that would, again, put us in play for winning the tank wars yet again. We have constructed the beginnings of a team that will not make any real noise but will allow us to begin a new chapter as a solid, professional team that is fostering a "winning is a goal" culture. We will take a page from the New Jersey Nets playbook and show we are a respectable basketball team.

But...the kermit the frog ass f***boys trolled us anyway. It's the life of being a Knick. It's what shows who is loyal and who isn't.

What is loyalty?

If you know, you know.

Never ran, never will :wow:

Hopefully, finally, we're standing firm in what I've been wanting for like two decades: slowly build a team with young hungry players with a chip on their shoulders instead of hoping on other teams superstars to come in and save the day. Aint no shortcuts, we've got to go through the building steps to erase the infamy of trading away Ewing (back then, I said that karma would kill us for decades. I was right).

Here's to the rebuild :wow:

GO NY GO NY GO :wow:

Interesting choice of title, words and pictures :jbhmm:

Is it really that serious? :mjtf:
Ha.:mjgrin:It's all love across the boroughs.

This is more directed at the brehs who hyped the Durant news for clout and then acted like it was Knicks brehs who were hyping it.

It's directed at the SASs, Bill Simmons and everyother analyst who claim they would be better GMs than our current FO.

And lastly, it's directed at that one Nets player...

What's his name:jbhmm:

"Is it DimWitty, DimDiddy...or DimDummy?/
Oh:ohhh:I get it Durant is BIG and Kyrie's Puffy.../
That still means he's just a fukkboy, how dumb is he..." Nas voice:ahh:

I have nothing against any Net or Net fan.

Either way, take your shoes off before stepping in b. The carpet is Lion fur.:win:
