Nothing will piss off a southern person more than a New Yorker bragging about being from New York...or how great NY is.
Candidly, bragging about something like where you were born (as if you had anything to do with that) is silly.

Never this. Why would I care about someone thinking their city is great. They should, it's their home . Objectively speaking, I think NYC is a great city.

But we do our own thing down here. This region rivalry shyt only exists on the Coli. I went to school and worked wit some NYC dudes, they were cool as hell.. All love.

Hollywood in itself is a one of the major cultural exports of the United States.... possibly almost as recognizable as the yellow cabs and other staples you've mentioned about NYC.

NYC edges L.A. as a global epicenter... but L.A. is still a tier 1 global city on par with other renowned cities by many metrics. To suggest otherwise is ignorant.

On a global scale NYC is the defining city of America

When dudes across the world who have never been to the USA think of America they think of New York

The statue of liberty, Time Square, Yellow Cabs etc

Same way when we think of England we think of London or when we think of Japan we think of Tokyo
