To make it look like a crime of passion or the work of a “vicious killer”.

My whole point was she could’ve already been dead when her body was stabbed, everyone is assuming she died because of it
but you never know.

I think the younger son and her got into it, and he killed her, likely strangling her. And in the aftermath he panicked and decided the best thing to do was to stab up the body and haphazardly dump it, just like he did, and to text his dad the messages that he received to make it look like the work of a crazed ex or stalker that she supposedly put in jail.

They released the kid after taking him into custody because he was a minor and with his only living parent out of state they couldn’t hold him and are likely still collecting evidence.

For the person to be home and on the top floor and for the killer to be with the victim in the basement is a dynamic you can't plan is the point I am trying to make. You are right IF someone is on a top floor and someone is on a bottom floor its tough to hear whats going on. Queens homes are not very wide there is not alot of land to build on they are narrow and tall so you have to take that chance of someone being multiple floors away from you to pull off a crime/attack is my point ....
