NYC brehs: Why are all the nice subway stations only in Queens?

How do ya'll make groceries in NYC? Y'all really get on the train with all them bags of food like that? Do people get robbed for their groceries? If you just want to make a quick stop to get something to drink or get a cheeseburger you gotta get on the train?

Amtrak trains be the nicest.. the ones in new york are aiight besides for the L train.

When you live in the inner boroughs (other than Manhattan, trains can be a bit far) supermarkets are ALWAYS within walking distance. Less than 5-10 minutes

I can't believe this actually has to be explained.
in 2021.
50,000 people where he's from use the same big box mega grocery store where you can "make" groceries, shop for clothes, buy tires, all under the same roof and all of a sudden it's beyond all reason to think that multiple ways of getting food and supplies exists from various specialty stores, markets etc.

"Make Groceries" man... that dude needs to google how we living up here...

....please tell me that you're trolling. The Northeast Corridor trains are not nice and they are NEVER on time. They're always stuck in Connecticut or Maryland somewhere. Business class is shyt, except for space. unless you mean Acela.

I don't use them often but when I did they are definitely nicer than the L train.

These trains have multiple floors, comfy seats, etc.

Nah, it's far from comfortable. before pandemic I was taking Amtrak at least once or twice a week. You must be talking about the long distance or coast to coast travel Amtrak trains with the sleeper cars, auto freights, and other amenities. The regular Amtrak is no better for comfort than the LIRR or NJT commuter trains except it's faster and not as shaky.
The routine gets old real fast. Amtrak is old and dusty. The Acela trains are nicer, I agree bc it's more business clientele and upgraded.

I could see a person who takes Amtrak for a destination trip enjoying the ride for what it is. But as a commuter with a railpass where I use amtrak for work travel, both am and pm commutes, between destination cities - it's like riding in a smelly sweaty tin can. 7am in the morning at the station and not getting into my home station until 7:45pm at night. and multiple schedule delays, gawd forbid, it's tourist season. The one thing about it that's nice is if the conductors know you enough from riding on their routes- I can get on the train before the regular and business crowds, no waiting in line, "quiet" car access where I don't have to hear people talk or breathe or have a table car area to myself. Better than abusing my car by sitting in traffic at least though and the latest evening train out on the schedule for that day - is usually the nicest and cleanest bc it's off peak, which makes for a more relaxing ride.

Dude's sounds like his groceries consisted of lead paint chips, shrimp flavor ramen noodles and tampico in his diet. He thinks fruit by the foot is an actual food group. The legit slowness - "uhhh hduhhh how do uhhhh yall make groceries in NYC??" first off, what dafuq is "making groceries"?? How far did you get in school b? and have you ever left the 10 miles radius of your town??

That’s why I had to laugh, cause some people’s idea of NYC be off the charts.

To answer the original question: Because parts of Queens were originally intended to be more agricultural and suburban. Brooklyn and Queens County Suburban Railroad. The World’s Fair held in Flushing Meadows contributed to the growth and development of the area. Then by the 70s trains started to deteriorate until the rehabilitation of the IRT Flushing Line. Basically Queens has had the most renovation projects, updates and revitalization take place throughout the years in terms of structural repairs/updates and development. But on the flip the stations on the 7 Line in Woodside, Jackson Heights and Corona have been in horrible condition and in disrepair for years.
Stations 52nd, 61st, 69th, 82nd, 103rd 111th- they all still have original infrastructure from the 70s.
