might be the yg/yb thing. and more & more poor people being pushed to bx & north east BK because of the rents and the city seems to be moving the homeless, ex cons, mentally ill, fiends etc to these areas too
while i was looking for an apartment i found out marble hill is technically considered manhattan
I don't understand why anyone would want to live in co-op city, shyt looks like a dystopia.
mott haven is the deep deep dirty south bronx
the more i get to know the bx tho the more nice neighborhoods i see. the dark blue area on the lower right(except for co-op city) is nice and so is the green on the upper right. the light blue on the upper left is also nice. the van cortland area isnt bad either. i live in the bedford park area which isnt terrible but does have some ratchetness. that whole lower left tho is bad. the pink on the upper center is bad too(edenwald, williamsbridge, olinville)
Yeah, it used to be attached to the rest of Manhattan.while i was looking for an apartment i found out marble hill is technically considered manhattan

Culturally, it's an extension of Washington Heights because it's got a lot of Dominicans.while i was looking for an apartment i found out marble hill is technically considered manhattan

That's what they say to get higher prices, BUT that Harlem River and Broadway bridge says different.
It's definitely the Bronx, 100%. Anyone telling you that is just gassing your head.
Kind of like cacs saying Columbia University isn't in Harlem, but rather Morningside Heights...
That shyt is in Harlem...
Marble Hill is the neighborhood which makes up the northernmost part of the borough of Manhattanin New York City, United States. Although it is politically part of Manhattan and New York County, because of the construction of the Harlem Ship Canal in 1895, it became an island in the Harlem River. In 1914, the Harlem was filled in on the north side of the new island of Marble Hill, connecting it to the North American mainland contiguous with The Bronx.[2] Because of this change in geography, Marble Hill is often associated with The Bronx; for instance, it is part of two of The Bronx's Community Board Districts. Broadway is the area’s primary thoroughfare.
It's not just Mott Haven, shyt seems to be happening everywhere.
BROWNSVILLE
Question for anyone here familiar with NYCHA, do you get any choice as to where you're put? I notice there are projects in the nice parts of Manhattan too, but I'm sure they're in high demand.

Either Mott Haven or Brownsville.

Wikipedia is NOT a source for anything in real life. You know that right?
The HARLEM RIVER is what separates the Bronx from Manhattan.
Cacs interested in getting higher rents and "gentrifying" the neighborhood probably typed that shyt.
Cacs are gonna cac, but according to the NYC Government, the USGS and the USPS (zip code 10463) it's OFFICIALLY the Bronx.
