NXT is always gonna have good matches. It built Survivor Series not Takeover and it was desperation at it's finest.

Becky vs Rhea was done to build the invasion aspect of Survivor Series, Shayna & crew running in to attack both built to both TakeOver & Survivor Series.

Ricochet vs Riddle was part of the invasion, Cesaro & Nakamura running in built to Survivor Series, Strong attacking Nakamura built to Survivor Series, Finn attacking Riddle built to TakeOver.

Undisputed ERA vs Revival was part of the invasion, had a great match that put over the guys in the match at Survivor Series.

KLR vs Dakota was to showcase KLR since she's in the War Games match, the post match stuff built to both TakeOver & Survivor Series.

Viking Raiders vs Forgotten Sons was part of the invasion.

Cole vs Dijakovic built the War Games match & the post match was part of the invasion & built to both TakeOver & Survivor Series.

The week before was the same NXT with 20 seconds of Bayley as the only person from Raw or SmackDown at the end to build to Survivor Series.

if AEW was ballsy wouldn’t they go to Monday or Friday and not Wednesday to try and get wins over the third brand

The republicans rushed to get NXT to Wednesdays on USA to compete with AEW

TNT chose Wednesday’s cause it doesn’t conflict with their NBA deal or MNF, RAW and SD. They wasn’t even thinking about NXT when they put AEW on Wednesday’s.

With AEW going against NXT on Wednesday nights, many were wondering if that was the initial plan. Khan revealed that October 1st (Tuesday) was considered before settling on Wednesday. The co-owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C. didn't want to deal with scheduling conflicts from the NFL.

"Tuesday and Wednesday were really good nights for the wrestling fan," Khan continued. "It would not be competing with the most popular show on television which is the National Football League. The vast majority of the top 100 shows are NFL games in this country. I don't want to go against the NFL on Monday, Thursday or Sunday night because I am a part of the NFL."

In regards to Tuesday nights, AEW would have had a free day with SmackDown moving to Friday's. AEWmight have ended up landing there if the network they chose was different. Besides football, AEW had to deal with basketball.

"We ended up partnering up with TNT. The NBA has games on Tuesday, which is a pre-existing commitment," Khan went on to say. "I didn't know a year ago what my TV partner was going to be. Fridays typically never been a great night for wrestling..... also as an NFL OWNER...... Friday.... Saturday..... hmmmm what normally happens on Sunday?

I can’t recall but I’m gonna get back to you on that.

Wednesday was always Lucha Underground night as they always had the best wrestling on cable tv that night nationwide..... but for whatever reason
