I’m saying tho why are all the name changes horrible tho? Like why can’t they improve someone’s name for a change? To an American audience Gunther is a terrible name, it may make sense in German but you know.

Also why they act like no one gave a damn about him in NXT UK and it’s better to change his name like he didn’t have a 75 year reign? I guess the NXT fanbase is so small there is no point in caring about what we think. Smh

I’m mean they could just change the Name to WALTER GUNTHER in all caps and call it a day than have the best of both… people still could call him Walter and they have their own IP:yeshrug:
This is actually the smartest move anyone could make that didn't start in WWE. Don't give them ownership of your independent wrestling name. I don't see why so many people hate this.

It's the same old song and dance. Riots over name changes, people calm down, accept and forget about it weeks later. :heh:

Not everything revolves around America. So we have to Americanize everything now? It's a good thing they are finally accepting other cultures into these characters now.

It’s an American company with a primary American audience.

So they give every Japanese or Asian star the same basic Asian gimmick without giving a damn about their culture but this is where they care to cater to foreign audiences? When was the last foreign universal or WWE champ? They don’t care about no other audience and like I said all the new names always suck

They suck to you. Ever think it doesn't suck to a German, Indian, Mexican, Brazilian or Asian fan? You do know they have a global audience now right? Asian stars have the same gimmick because that's what they had before joining. It's not until after they arrive do they change. About the only one that has retained much was Asuka.

You said they should get rid of it if he's just Gunther, which as far as we know, that's what he's being called because that's what he said after the match. He didn't say Stark. So how is him being just Gunther any different than having Schmidt if they are both common names? Just because it was trademarked doesn't mean they will use the entire name. They trademarked "Rex Steiner" and haven't used that once.
I said that they should've ditched any parts of the name "Gunther Stark" after it got out that it was a name of a Nazi.
Keeping Gunther doesn't do them any favors because it is already out there that they wanted to use the full name.
So the better solution would've been to just add a last name onto Walter instead of sticking with the name that is associated with Nazis even if they won't use the last name moving forward.

They should've just changed Walter's name to Augustus Gloop.

This is overreaction just like when Vince dropped Crews from Apollo when that guy named Cruz shot up some place.

Why have Dolph when it was part of Adolph Hitler? :manny:

didn't watch so I came to see what people thought about Walter/Roddy and I see grown men on the verge of tears at a wrestler changing their name.

you got some dummy in here that couldn't grasp someone in here being fine and understanding why Walter is changing his name and gave a sensible reason why but your man just couldn't deal with logic so he had to ramble a hypothetical scenario about WWE fans accepting a racist character. shyt, really the way that AEW cult is, they'd be first to accept it and call everybody else idiots for not getting it. half their roster look like they'd have been at the Capitol a year ago.

I'm sure its even more extreme on twitter as wrestling are fans are someone of the biggest clowns walking this earth. genuine idiots.

you still going to call him Walter anyway..shut your goofy asses up

I'm not gonna lie, but I think NXT 2.0 may be the best wrestling show out right now. I know I said this weeks ago, but it still holds true. I been enjoying the shyt out of the characters regardless of that recent name switches with WALTER. This is what has been missing on WWE television and wrestling in general for me. I love being able to connect with the characters that are being potrayed and not just some regular "pro wrestling" gimmick. I love when shyt is over the top and cheesy, and does not take itself too serious.

My favorite characters right now are Cameron Grimes & Carmelo Hayes out of these 2.0 people. I love saying "TO THE MOOOOON", and Melo/Trick promos/banters are like talking to one of my homies which makes it great. Their mic skills feels so natural.

The plus out of all is this is that they are all pretty good wrestlers as well. :wow:

Trick is my MVP so far. I never even heard of this guy before NXT and he's become one of my favorites. His charisma is off the charts.

That’s what I said, the majority of the American wrestling audience will think the name sucks. They are not as big overseas as they pretend to be. My point is their name changes always suck and it takes away from their character. It’s my and a lot of peoples opinions and you or anyone won’t change that.

He may become world champion one day or he will be fired by June either way that name along with all the other unnecessary name changes will continue to suck. Dolph Zeigler hasn’t grown on me in 15 years and neither will this. I still call Matt Riddle by his name cause Riddle by itself is stupid. Whatever you don’t have to agree or understand
