Wrapped up the series tonight, cool show overall but I still think it peaked with Gus.

Gus death scene (the actual death scene, not the buildup which was incredible) was underwhelming to me, IMO he should have died by getting stabbed by Walt :manny:

Gus, Mike and Hank was the only likeable characters on the show to me :ehh: Not counting side character's like Jessie's GF.

Personal milestone for me, this was the first completed TV show I watched every episode in the series from beginning to end :wow: Only the third series finale I watched.

I'm gonna start watching The Wire tomorrow :blessed:

disagree with the thread show was good but became next level IMO when Walt confronted Gretchen in the restaurant; that was a :leon: moment where the show clicked for me

The first two seasons are merely good.

Show didnt hit its stride till season 3.

Its a top 20 show of all time but not top 10 or 5.

The whole point of the show was to make Walt unlikeable though.

This is a stupid fukking thread. Breaking Bad's first season was one of the best debut seasons in tv history; perfect mix of dark comedy and drama; the second season removed a lot of the comedy and went to straight drama but was still amazing. Therefore, the show was consistently amazing before, during, and after Gus Fring came.

One star.

Season 1 was incredible, but after that it was meh. But dudes are actually ranking this higher than the holy trinity of The Wire, Mad Men, and Sopranos.

And they couldn't even make Walt unlikable like they promised. They tried 5 or 6 different ways in season 5 and none of it worked.

Vic Mackey character is the way you make someone unlikable.

I agree that Vic mackey was a scumbag, but Walt was extremely unlikeable; he watched Jessie's girl die, he used Jessie tons of ways, he poisoned a child, he killed Mike for no fukking reason, Walt did many things to make you hate him, so I disagree with you on that. The only criticism I have for BB is the Skylar and Ted storyline; it really made me root for Walt more than Skylar which hurt the story for me

:rudy: Breaking Bad was good the whole way through. The whole thing with Krazy 8 in episode 2 of season 1 was:banderas: and Tuco was also a good antagonist for that season. Now he doesn't exist and it's only about Gus? FOH:camby:.
