No nikkah. The law varies from district to district, state to state. States are not bound by common law statues on assault. Real case law comes from lower court and appellate court rulings. Somebody could be charged for assault in one state but not be charged for assault under the same situations in another state.
Different courts in the same state get different rulings with the same elements all the time. The law is gray and y'all in here dangerously spewing legal sureties like experts when nobody has a JD in here or knows what the fukk they talking about legally

You can find alternatives to look up case law from different federal districts or different states. Jurisdiction alone is its own study in American law. Y'all talking legal sureties when no such things exists in the law.
