So he is performance protesting. There's been numerous black folk who've dressed as slaves to protest oppression and make racist white people who'd rather avoid confrontation feel uncomfortable. There was the woman who claimed her rape was ignored and protested around her college campus with a mattress strapped to her. I get what they were going for in your face and hard to ignore but I don't think it works. It's easy to misinterpret his message we couldn't even tell he was black with the sign blocking him then we thought he was c00ning. It's easy for an enemy to twist his intended message into "He's using hateful slurs against black people, he's the racist" just as it was easy for neo-confederates to say people dressed as slaves were being offensive and other college students to say an alleged rape victim was being exploitive and gross.
