He is going to jail now
UPDATE: Tampa police are charging Tony Daniel with aggravated battery for his role in the racially-charged melee.
Tampa police are reviewing video of a fight that erupted Friday on a street corner near the University of Tampa after two women confronted a man holding up a racist sign.
Tony Daniel was the man. He is black. He is also known as a race-baiting provocateur, one frequently seen on Tampa streets with a truck or signs that contain racial slurs or swastikas.
A video released by the city of Tampa, shot by a motorist, captured the encounter. It was provided to the
Tampa Bay Times and will be posted soon.
It initially shows Daniel, accompanied by a woman in a red dress, holding a sign, nearly as tall as he, that says, "Homeless (N------) go back to Africa." On the back side was another racist slur.
Nearby are two other women. One appears to initially guide the other away from the scene. Daniel points a megaphone in their direction and one of the women marches toward him and grabs at the sign. Daniel yanks it back and pushes a megaphone into her face.
Then the other woman strikes at him. He lashes out at the two with the megaphone, which appears to force them into traffic.

After the clash, Daniel sat in the back of a patrol car as police investigated the scene. Officers opened and inspected a manhole near where Daniel had been standing.
As rain began to pour down, the police car with Daniel in the back pulled off.
This is a developing story.
