Sad to see. I know some of you don't care about an old building in Paris, but it's 800 years old. It's historical and is a national monument. The building lives in folklore and will forever be known based on The Hunback of Notre-Dame book and movies.

What's with the smiley? As a History major, this is a tragic event. The cathedral survived invasion, the French Revolution and Nazi occupation of Paris only to fall because of an incompetent construction worker.

You can't just recreate the cathedral. The building which is constructed largely of wood is still being understood by engineers today. It's architecture at its finest.
