1. No one cares about the tourist attractions of a foreign country. Does anyone care about Six Flags over Great America or the Grand Canyon in other countries?
2. Everyone knows how young the USA is compared to the rest of the world. Its pointed out all time.

You know what, I didnt know that. I was an art major , so this hit me deep. And I didnt know about the other churches.we dont have to imagine. Black churches go up in flames pretty much monthly. Nobody gives a fukk outside of those directly connected to the congregation. yet your "distraught" over this one.

Notre Dame can be rebuilt. No one died and no one was injured It's this prioritization of white/western/european art/culture/history over everything else that the problem. Which makes everybody looking sad about this look foolish. It generates loads of money in tourism each year. It'll be fine. Look at all the donations they are getting already.
When you think about history something that happens to a structure like that that's centuries old something is bound to happen...as someone who is a fan of history and architecture (and their respective preservation) I can understand the loss of a valuable structure like this but at the same time it ain't the end of the world. That fire in Brazil with that library rich in irreplaceable cultural artifacts was more of a loss than this but since that's not in a "white" country...nobody gave a shyt.

The reactions where everybody is a history, art, or museum studies/ archivist major and cacs/c00ns are acting like it’s yhe apocalypse-crying crocodile tears for this even though it has no effect on them personally and no personal connection. When over here we barely have our own “structures” and ownership of buildings with historical connections. That said people think their above reproach bc had it been 100 yrs ago, they wouldn’t even be let within 10 ft of the place, and/or burned at the stake themselves for being black. Also, the fact that the structure/foundation is still intact and they are receiving close to a billion dollars in proceeds to rebuild it, yet they’re so depressed and affected by it.
