If i should Die, nikkas, cash money tracks were the highlights for me.

Production was off and didn't really match what I thought BIG woulda chose, plus i don't think he woulda collabed with a third of the people on the album, but the album wasn't outright trash.

I find it hard to believe that's all that's in the vault for BIG lyrics. If I die before I wake woulda been so crazy had it been a full 16.

"What you expected from his next of kin
I'm loco bro, but ain't no Mexican
I got nines in the bedroom, glocks in the kitchen
A shotty by the shower if you wanna shoot me while I'm shyttin,
the lesson from the Smith and Wessun is depressin
nikkaz keep stressin, the same motherfukkin question,How many shots does it take, to make my heart stop
and my body start to shake, if I should die before I wake... "

BIGs flow and delivery was damn near untouchable.

This was a pretty important album for me, in middle school, my 8th grade year. I remember by late 99 I was buying cd's more and more frequently, saving lunch money, stealing change from my Dad's box, however I could get them, and this was one of them. For a lot of kids around that time, it was our most adult introduction to Big, and though the Bad Boy craze of 97-98 had worn thin, in comparison to DMX, Dr. Dre, and Eminem, (in terms of wide spread popularity) it was still anticipated and discussed, esp. that Em was on "Dead Wrong", and the height of his initial popularity.

I fukked with "Dead Wrong", the Junior Mafia track, "Would U Die 4 Me", just to hear Big spitting straight greasy sex lyrics, or near horror core, switching to smooth Bad Boy vintage on "Notorious" was special. It was the only of Bigs albums I could experience in real time, obviously he was dead, but the energy was still there, and it was recent. It was also the first time I heard "Everyday Struggle" reprised as "I Really Want To Show You", which is my favorite track. And, I prefer the "Tonight" version with Mobb verses to the real thing. The "Born Again" version was so haunting and angry, defiant, even in death.

It was also just a dope time in general, to be young, and immersed in rap, as you slowly grow older. Very special time.

Prodigy's verse and Beans verse >>>>> The entire album.

Didn't listen to it much outside of the first few weeks after it was released.

few joints on there were dope but compared to real biggie albums its def nothing special. never was a huge fan of the dead wrong beat and hated eminem being on it.

if i should die before i wake was the best joint from what i remember. couple other joints were dope tho with mobb n meth n red, hot boys joint was actually first or second song i liked from them
