That's not the full story. They asked him to sacrifice his touches and buy in and when he did that they used it against him to try not to pay him. He was giving a raw deal in Phoenix. They paid Shamet before he even played a minute on the Suns and after the season made him go get an offer before even negotiating with him. Monty never wanted him on the team and at times held him back.

that's fine but his little quote in portland was confusing and weak. people are having to ask what it means. i didnt like seeing him get yelled at and benched either, but he plays weak at the worst times. if he doesnt learn some accountability and assertiveness, he will probably get treated the same way out there.
I can tell you don't follow the Suns. They'll be games where DA would score 18 or 20 in the first half just to get 2 shots in the second half. In the Mav series the Mavs had no answer for DA but Monty refused to include him in the gameplan. After the series Monty said he didn't do enough to prepare Mikal and Cam in those situations. In game 1 of the Mavs series DA had 25 game 1 just to have 6 shots the next game, Game 6 he goes 21 and 11 on 60% shooting and game 7 he got 5 shots. That's what led to the blow-up with Monty he tried to use Ayton as a scapegoat. Even in the Denver series Ayton would go 6-8 in the 1st half and would not get any touches while the rest of the team is struggling. In game 3 DA had no shots in the 1st quarter.
