The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
that's what most stars do. That's why unlike in other sports they dictate where they go. Baseball has 10/5 no trades and limited no trades and stuff like that. Adam Silver can't force you to play hard.

They do not pick one destination and bully other teams into not showing interest when they still have a significant portion of their contract remaining forcing the team he’s been on forever to accept a crap package.

This is bigger than just one trade, this player empowerment shyt has gone too far if this ends up happening and itll have a negative effect on the entire league if he gets his way.

Normally he'd have other suitors, yes. And it goes back to what I was saying last summer and that is free agency is a myth. Now players know what to do: get bird rights, get the max offer possible, accept, then go about "free agency" that way. What Lillard is asking is no different than asking Portland to waive him.

and the notion that this will have ramifications on other free agents is bullshyt. Where they may be ramifications is during the draft process where some agency will deny you the chance to talk to a player or work out with one.

I don’t get the anger at lillard trying to force himself onto a good team. He’s doing what he should for his best interests. It’s up to Portland whether they want to strain that relationship and do what’s best for them or get a slightly worse package but keep lillard happy

It's gonna end strained anyway.

They could always just not use him. dikk move for sure, but it's also a dikk move to take supermax, ask for unrealistic upgrades and then demand a trade to 1 spot for pieces that can't really help you in any way. Portland can go forward with Scoop and Sharpe while Dame makes diss records to Cronin.

Portland's also finding out that the "better than nothing" excuse is a lie. Sometimes, nothing works.
