Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr. Not Expected To Return To Raptors
JUN 9, 2023 11:46 PM

Many around the league do not expect Fred VanVleet or Gary Trent Jr. to return to the Toronto Raptors next season, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report. Both players have player options this offseason.

Executives around the league believe that the team will build around Scottie Barnes and young talent.

VanVleet has been linked with a move to the Rockets.

The Raptors are also reportedly down to three candidates for its next head coach.

If the Thunder decide to play Chet at the 4, I wouldn't be surprised if Presti tried to throw a big overpay deal at Brook Lopez for a year or 2:jbhmm:

They got around $30m in space, Presti has been looking at Lopez since the year he was drafted, & the team could use a vet. Overpay him on 2 year deal (even a 1 & player option) to start next to Chet & by the time guys like Giddey come up the Lopez deal would be off the books.

Masai should have made the moves during deadline, a failure if they walk away with zero assets in return

Would not be surprised if Minny trades KAT for #3 and Simons
Masai should have made the moves during deadline, a failure if they walk away with zero assets in return

Masai has let the following players walk for nothing or for less than optimal return in the last 3 years:
  • Serge Ibaka
  • Marc Gasol
  • Kyle Lowry
  • Norman Powell
Now you add Gary Trent Jr and FVV to the list. Masai's "patient" act has fooled no one. He's becoming worse than Danny Ainge. He's locked the Raptors into being a mid team while giving assets every year to the San Antonio Spurs. If he doesn't trade Pascal and OG for SOMETHING and sign them to the supermax and $30 mil deal that Pascal and OG wants, the Raptors are stuck in no man's land for a long time

I still think that backcourt can work but it’s been to much bullshyt going on with the hawks, they fukked around and alienated both of they best two players with these rumors, especially since they made the playoffs

What is atl front office doing?
