They shoulda just paid Harden to come back then. There's no question Harden, even in a decline, is a MUCH better player than VanVleet and he proved this past season he was fine taking a backseat and facilitating more.

Harden does EVERYTHING much better than VanVleet except defend and it isn't like FVV is The Glove out there. I'm truly astonished at this contract.
Unfortunately it’s deeper than hoops. They have culture issues —-:mjpls:——-so they needed a true vet, a stabilizer. Harden is a complete fukk ngga. He’s the last dude they could sign

You realize they have other players on their rosters who’s contracts will expire and continue to creat cap space …again do you not understand that contracts aren’t lifetime appointments?

Site your sources

This is just word salad, 2nd apron teams couldn’t use anything but the taxpayer MLE ($6million) and vet min contracts to fill their rosters out prior to the new CBA anyways so what are you even saying?

As far as the other non second apron teams ..again contracts aren’t lifetime appointments, as other contracts expire new cap space becomes available ..as an example the clippers only have 1 contract for 20million on their books to start the 2025 season …there’s a constant cycling of money in the NBA ..the fact that the salary floor was raised will benefit way more players than the institution of a second apron …do you even know how many teams paid the lux tax last year?
Ok I guess you know more than NBA insiders. Yes, contracts aren't lifetime appointments but next summer there won't be as much upward pressure on salaries (teams below the cap forced to meet floor before season starts). Most teams below the floor don't have big money coming off their books next summer. On the flip side, teams approaching or above the apron will be looking to shed salary by 1) not signing role players to big contracts and 2) dumping excess salaries on teams with cap space and including picks. This summer the salary floor was an upward force. Next summer the approaching 2nd apron will be a downward force.
