shyt is crazy lol. It's all based on personality
NBA fans are always this way.
Larry Bird developed an image as "one the clutchest players ever" because he talked a TON of trash and had a great outside shot that he could hit while guarded. But then you look and see that his shooting #'s dropped in an ugly way in the playoffs (he shot just 32% from 3pt in the postseason for his career), he only made 2 game-winning playoff shots ever, and he had an ugly history of repeatedly laying eggs in elimination games with almost 0 classic must-win games.
On the other hand, Bron had some of the most memorable clutch performances of the 2000s (hitting 2 game-winners in his first playoff series ever, scoring the last 25 points in a must-win Game 5 against Detroit including the shot to send it to overtime and the shot to win in double-overtime, scoring 45 in a Game 7 on the road against the stacked Celtics, hitting the crazy 3pt buzzer beater against the Magic, and clutch game after game where it seemed like he scored or assisted literally every bucket in the 4th), yet he was known as "not clutch" before he ever left Cleveland solely because he hadn't won a title yet and had cultivated an image as a "pass first" player.
Crazy stat: LeBron hit as many game-winners in
his first playoff series ever as Larry Bird hit in his entire playoff career.
