I'm rooting against Philly because of Dombrowski, who I think is overrated, BUT, he understands more than 95% of GMs what actually wins: hitting.
He has an unlimited payroll, which is why he's always able to be successful, but he always has a specific focus for team building. Defense doesn't really matter. Having a deep lineup with with monster focal points like Miggy and Harper is how you stay in the mix along with a couple great starters. So few teams have lineups that actually scare you.
This obsession with WAR valuing "tools" and defense is so goofy and ass backwards.
