I think I've done most of the things posted here on a Sunday morning more often than not the last few years....however it's a good place to be in general. Sometime I just get my TV church in....:smugfavre:

However, alot of these statements about not going to church sound like they are coming from the POV of a single man with no kids, especially pre-teens/teenagers at home with them......like myself......I went to church 2 - 3 times a month growing up, I'm thankful for that, though at the time I probably didn't feel that way, but as an adult I haven't quite continued that legacy.

Question:
So what will yall do when/if you have a S/O at home with you or have kids at home with you?? Not saying you going to be guaranteed a well disciplined child by going to church....lawd knows that's not the case, but at least they get some basic morals and lessons on life in there....whether having girls or boys.....especially yall that are frightened to have girls, yall might want to consider the "spirituality, morality" investment potentally gained from physical time in church if you have kids. :yeshrug:

I was raised a JW. I'll never be stepping foot in another religious institution again. It's all fakery anyway.

I don't rock with church any more.

I finally admitted it to my mom a month ago.

I hate religion to be truthful.

So what are yall going to do on Sunday when/if you have pre-teen/teenage kids at home on Sunday.......so for 52 weeks out of a year, with growing kids at home yall not going to use the church to help reinforce basic morality concepts/life lessons....regardless of what they do in the future, at least they would have another foundation to help in their decision processes.......

Scenario: 13 year old boy with his friends, one of the boys in the group sees some electronic equipment somewhere, they could easily take it and seemingly get away with it, ..... now your 13 year old has 5 things going through his mind

1) Hey we can :eat: good of the spoils of this equipment, and enjoy the groupthink/peer presssue of successful plunder
2) This is wrong outright, but the groupthink/peer pressue seems to be tough to try and stop the action from occurring...(may or may not participate)
3) My pops/mom (talking about you, Coli-ite) is going to to be upset and discipline me potentially one way or another if we get caught
4) If we get caught, the police going have us hemmed up
5) "Thou shall not steal" (from hearing dozens of times in church or whatever similar religious institution)

I'm saying out of 52 weeks in a year, you wouldn't consider going to church maybe 20 - 26 weeks out the year with impressionable and growing kids at home??

This would hold some merit if there was any correlation between going to church and morals. Church is full of teenage moms, single moms, thieves, felons, etc. I've turned out to be a pretty well adjusted person who has never been in trouble with the law and none of that is attributed to church or fear of any higher power.

As a parent you should be able to teach your kid and instill values into them without resorting to expensive fairy tales.

dog, if you need church to teach your kids right from wrong, you ain't a good parent

it's not like dragging your kids to church will instill those good values in every kid, anyways

You really shouldn't have to scare your kids with religious :duck: to get them to have ethics.

If you look at my first post on this page, I said that this exact thing. I specifically said reinforce common/basic moral concepts/life lessons. I said it is potentially an investment in your child's future, when facing decisions in life like the example I gave....

Far from 100% guaranteed, but something to consider.

:yeshrug:....... ok ok.............. I'm just throwing it out there, just seeing if yall thoughts on church would change somewhat when/if you have pre-teens/teenagers....
alright then....
