I'm not saying that our allies would "like" what we do. But there is NO scenario where South Korea or Japan join a war on North Korea's side.

Indeed. At worst they "condemn" the actions of the US, call a session at the UN, and maybe maybe file sanctions against the US. (considering we'll be liable for any and all economic and social losses)

South Korea would still defeat North Korea in that war ad long as China didn't step in, but it would be long and bloody and a LOT of Koreans would die.

South Korea's military is massive and modern.

Reserves are 5,500,00
They can defeat North Korea on their own but it would be a bloody victory.
