My cousin served in Vietnam. We were winning every major battle and completed most our objectives. The thing is we could not contain [communism] in Vietnam. Plus we had shytty allies[South Vietnam]. Along with that we were not use to guerrilla warfare. With North Korea its another story. No one should ever compare to two.

Only way this gets done is an American withdraw from the peninsula and China has the right to demand that...South Korea don't even want the US there anymore because they know a continued American presence is detrimental to any hopes of solving the NK problem...

Our presence on the Korean peninsula lost its strategic value once the cold war ended. We essentially keep it up to annoy China and use as a bargaining chip with Japan when we need leverage.
