I disagree. There's people who aren't into politics yet and if their introduction is a story like this they'll view Dems negatively and we may have lost a potential voterWhy cares? People worried about this were never going to vote dem.

The American people are too far gone. If a little story of empathy makes them not vote Dem there's not much we can do. Not unless you have billions of dollar and can reverse the propaganda.

I think he ran for office and lost and has been trying to figure out why.
Instead of looking at the obvious reasons he's allowed others to Joe Rogan him into believing he lost because he didn't listen to disgruntled right wing cacs.
Anyone who sees this story and forms your conclusion is an idiot who was never serious about learning about issues in the first place.
You posted this article here and the response you got was from people who were willing to do just a little bit of research and pointed out why this isn't a "national issue" and explained to you some of the local demographics. Further they also explained why it's fear mongering to suggest whatever happens in Vermont is going to happen nationally.
The only person agreeing was The Cac Mamba and that should say enough in and of itself.
Still, it appears the outrage you suggest we should have is really just false equivalency. This isn't Republicans attempting to disenfranchise voters across the country nor is it their attempts to stymie women's reproductive rights. This is just a small town doing what they feel helps represent their community the best.

That Dems need to essentially go after whatever little towns do? That Dems need to go against communities of real people? That we need to "preempt" the conversation? The only way to preempt the conversation is undoing propaganda at the core machine itself - it's not by engaging on these stories.

You're gonna punish what communities come up with? That's what you're advocating for. You're feeding into the narrative that Dems even control this sort of thing from the top. They don't. Defund the police, this voting stuff. That's people on the ground. That's grassroots. Yeah, defund the police wasn't great at the national scale because it fights against oppressors, so of course oppressors aren't going to like it. Duh. The only way to stop it from being mainstream is to have a media force that is more effective than Fox News, Crowder, old Rush crowd that reaches its viewers at this point. And to ban the old conservative media, which is corrosive and poisonous. Which is pretty much impossible in this country. You can't just post a website and say "look, a good counter argument." These people are long gone when it comes to that. That includes a great deal of the middle.
You're probably surrounded by people with little education and a lot of propaganda in the brain. Let go of the "Dems shouldn't..." and understand that even if the Dems were a little left of conservative Republicans, they'll always be communist pedophiles to those people.
