:why: Tacking "IMO" at the end of that utterly ridiculous statement doesn't make it any more valid as a criticism of TDKR. Catwoman was one of the WEAKEST elements of TDKR as little more than a "f the 1% - selfish, Robin Hood - #OccupyWallStreet - action girl" pastiche. Her presence did more to detract from that film instead of adding to it, and actually did the mythos of the Catwoman character a disservice.

Conversely, what some would argue are key story elements, like the motivation and backstories of Cap's merry band of superpowered friends is left completely to the imagination of the viewer that hasn't seen the other Avengers movies outside Cap's trilogy. You can't keep handwaving that as a story fault when you keep insisting on judging the films exclusively on the merit of their own content.

That is part of why Nolan's trilogy is superior. He quite intentionally crafted a story that was meant to be finite, self-contained, and internally consistent. Of course, some feel that as much as that helped Nolan's movies it screwed the rest of the DC cinematic universe, but that's an entirely different conversation.
All you're offering is your opinion no facts. She was a big part of the movie even part of the final action conflict.
Yeah, I said the Nolan trilogy was superior.

Got away with?! It's a title of a movie.
They established a universe. It's unprecedented in modern movies, so should they get penalized for it or celebrated when comparing them to other trilogies/comic book movies?
Yea but the storyline is a continuation of Ultron with all that accords bullshyt.

It is a continuation to the MCU. It's different from most things out there specifically Nolan's trilogy. If you don't like cinematic universes criticize it, if you do celebrate it.

So Cal
real shyt, every dark Knight movie is better than every cap movie.

The best cap movie is no higher than a C, which is prolly what i would give rises.

man I disagree about catwoman, Anne Hathaway killed that shyt... what weakened TDKR to me is the bytchassness of Bane's fate. He shouldn't have gone out like that. :sadbron: also Batman just randomly returning to Gotham with perfect timing after being thrown in a hole in the desert with a broken back :beli: other then that tho...fire movie.

Begins is better than Rises as a complete film. Rises just had a better characterization of the villian. TDK transended comic book films and became a GREAT film period. People judge the whole trilogy different because of Ledgers A-list caliber performance. As a trilogy Cap was better and more cohesive film making. TDK was a better film of all three but comparing them as trilogies Cap was better no question.

She was better than Halle Berry but that really isn't saying much.
I'm sorry, but I think it was probably more a weakness in Nolan's writing than her portrayal of the character.
Some random woman off the street breaking in and robbing The GOTDAMN Batman??!!??
Ra's Al Ghul and his gang of fricking NINJAS had to wait til he was distracted with a dinner party before burning his shyt to the ground...
But somehow the Selina from TDKR with no kind of training can waltz right in and rob him while she has his undivided attention??:picard:
Sorry. that screamed Mary Sue to me.
Weak writing. :yeshrug:

Yup part of the sloppiness of dark knight rises

On some real shyt, Baleman was a dumb ass the entire trilogy. He was getting outsmarted and played left and right, about every significant character got the better of him at some point.

I'm not saying they weren't good movies, but the character the movies centered around wasn't recognizable as any Batman I've ever known. Nolan is fine to do his own interpretations of the characters but his "Batman" probably could have been interchangeable with any street level hero in either universe. They were good movies, but not good comic books movies IMO and really not even good Batman movies.

If you took Batman out and replaced him with Green Arrow, Moon Knight, The Prowler, etc, do they films lose anything but branding power?
