The fact that they think another Evolution won't be successful without Ronda shows how much faith they have in the women.

The first one was a success in spite of what WWE tried doing to sabotage it. I'm almost certain they wanted it to fail on the level of something like December to Dismember so nobody would talk about doing another one. But it didn't, and now their excuse for not doing Evolution II is "Ronda's not here. We need crossover stars to sell tickets. :troll:"

The women's roster they have now is definitely capable of doing another PPV by themselves. WWE just doesn't want to try it again.
It's crazy to me because the women's division was damn good pre-Rhonda. They basically killed it everybody off to hype up Charlotte/Rhonda/Becky and now they're feeling the domino affect of those decisions.

What they did to Asuka just to make the main event more meaningful still makes me sick. :scust:

Because if they did put on another Evolution, a match between her and Bayley for the SD women's title writes itself. But they spent so much time trying to kill off her momentum, it won't be as special as it could have been if she was still the same character she was in 2016.

This program buried Sasha, Asuka, and Ruby Riott, 2 of which are top 5 women on the roster.

This is an indictment on how the WWE views the women's division without Ronda Rousey, and its an indictment on how the current "faces" of the division are going about getting more eyes on the product. Simply put, the WWE doesn't think it has a star mainstream enough to warrant a pay-per-view.

And this train of thought basically devalues last year's event as nothing more than a PR stunt. If a women's pay-per-view was guaranteed to do the most $, they'd do one all the time. See: Saudi Arabia.

It doesn't help either that the WWE doesn't know how to book anything with the women that doesn't involve the Women's Championship.

Which is crazy, cause just a couple of months ago, Mandy/Naomi was a really good feud without the women's title (though the actually booking was awful, as Mandy seemed to win every match, even though SHE was the antagonist in the storyline :beli::beli:). Another problem of the WWE is that they hate managers, but feel they need every woman on the roster wrestling, even though a bunch shouldn't be in the ring at all and SHOULD BE MANAGERS. That's the great thing previous eras did, as women that weren't in the ring were attached to singles wrestlers and tag teams to keep them visible. You don't have to try to make every woman Charlotte, Becky, or Sasha, it's ok to have some Terri Runnels, Stacy Kieblers, and Sunnys, women who were either never in the ring or barely in the ring, and the later is what Alexa, Lana, and Dana Brooke should be.

I just really can’t think of a good main event match that would sell a show

No doubt they have the potential to have a good undercard but what main event could they do that would move the needle?

It would have to be Charlotte vs Becky and Sasha vs Bayley

Becky vs shayna bazler has potential but they have to promote her and make her an absolute killer on tv for a few months

Potential card:

NXT/NXT UK Women's Battle Royal (winner receives title match on respective brand)

Shayna Bazsler vs. Toni Storm (champion vs. champion)

Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley

Charlotte vs. Trish Stratus

Ember Moon/Candice LeRae/Carmella vs. Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross/Lacey Evans

Women's Tag: IICONICS (c) vs. Mandy/Sonya

SD title (Fatal 4-way ladder match): Bayley (c) vs. Kairi Sane vs. Naomi

Raw title (Best 2-of-3 falls): Becky Lynch (c) vs. Asuka

I'd watch this event, knowing damn well the women's tag will be a piss break and the six-woman tag has to be handled a certain way to get the most bang for the buck.
