i have never seen a no way jose match, so i am assuming his gimmick is that he's placed in impossible situations (where there's no way, THERE'S NO WAY, BUT MY GOD HE DID IT, HE'S NO WAY JOSE!) but he prevails somehow through gimmick fukkery or insane mick foley dives

because there is no other reason to name a guy no way jose, correct?

Nah, WWE has guys pegged from day one. If you're a curtain jerker wrestler giving 200% in every match that's what you will be expected to continue doing but you still won't change their minds. If you're a handsome former professional athlete and don't step on the wrong toes they will try with you same with indie vets with a fan base but a guy like Jose ceiling was moving afro wigs and an annual Royal Rumble stunt, that's it. There is no brass ring you get popular on your own and all of a sudden you're their guys fun best friend like when Cena was best friends with Cryme Tyme and Zack Ryder, I guess he could've been Roman's best friend.
