It feels like yesterday I was watching this DVD in the crib...:wow:

man i've prob watched that video at least 10 times. :wow:
prob never be another player like him again, who did things his way with no fukks given. I think a movie about him would be crazy. His on and off court life are equally intriguing.

I never got a chance to see MJ play live. But i've seen lebron, wade, and kobe play in person. But they dont come close to seeing iverson in person. Moving at the speed of light and dominating cats at least 6 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier.

wasn't a huge fan (fukked with his first couple of shoes though, had them joints in middle school), but I always thought it was a shame how his last couple of years played out...a player of his caliber shouldn't had to play in 3rd rate leagues overseas...should've at very least been playing the jamal crawford roll on a title contender, or even VC who turned himself into a solid role player the latter stage of his career...just seemed like he would've fit in somewhere...seeing him having his jersey retired definitely makes feel old though

Talk about him all you want and knock the shooting percentage if you like but AI got buckets on the court and the real fans know how nice he was. It's not like he was a bad shooter, he just thought he could make every shot that he took no matter what. He could probably still be in the league now but that ego and refusal to take a backup role is the only thing that stopped that.

One thing I will say, It's unfortunate but I think this era where analytics have taken over & you have players like Lebron & D-wade basically passing up shots so it doesn't hurt their FG% and Durant hiring analytics experts will hurt Allen's legacy in some ways. When Allen's name is brought up you now have a bunch of stats nerds basically calling him inefficient.

Allen is one of those players you really had to see in order to believe. Still unbelievable that he was able to score in the manner that he did & flat out take over games regardless of his usage rate/fg% and what not.
