I watched it out of curiosity because I saw Jessica on the Daily Show when I was flipping channels once and I've seen her on twitter. I know she gets a lot of hate on here, so I figured I'd give it a shot to see if the coli was right about her. You were. It sucked.

It was not only unfunny, but it was uncomfortable to watch the two of them up there. I don't know one black woman in real life who acts like this or would find this shyt funny at all. shyt was disgusting and the other comedians they had up there weren't really amusing either. Maybe one or two parts from the other comedians that got a chuckle, but that's it. Show was ass and I dunno why they have a following or who could relate to this bullshyt.

I've been wondering the same. There's clearly an agenda behind it because it keeps repeating in the commercials but what's the angle for this?

I have a relative in advertising...while she doesn't know who originates the ideas and plots, she stated a lot of times marketers think it is an easy way out to appeal to "diverse" (i.e. minority) audiences without showing a whole Black family (too "ethnic") or a Black man with a White woman (White people are much less receptive and even hostile to those).

Also it is seen as trendy such as with mixed race kids or Hispanics. Kinda what happens when the ethnic marketing Black folks pioneered is taken out of their hands once it is super successful.

The IRR in film disparity has actually been well established by multiple empirical studies. BW/WM coupling is actually way over represented in flim in comparison to it's real life representation while the BM/WW coupling is under represented. And though these deal with moves and tv shows, it's still pretty relevant.



Bonus: BW/WM couples also tend to have better representation in terms of quality over BM/WW couples, as well.



BW/WM is and has always been far more digestible in our white male dominated society than BM/WW.

I feel like white women would reveal their entire hand. I've noticed that in those Hair Product commercials or shyt for women in general, I've never seen any Asians in them. and if there are, they're not those hot model looking ones.

If they showed an Americanized Yoona in those commercials.. the outrage from white women would be enormous. They're competing with Asian women for the men now
