Alshon can walk, as far as I'm concerned. If he doesn't see how good this setup is for him, then peace out. I actually think playing with Wentz increases free agent attractiveness in playing for the Eagles. There is a highly favorable opinion of him throughout the league by other players. Just look at the comments Jay Ajayi made today at his press conference, calling him "special". So I think FA wide receivers may be cool with coming here. It's not like Jeffries has been a world-beater, he only has one more catch and slightly few more yards (and BARELY more YPC) than Agholor, but Agholor has more TDs. So he's damn near the THIRD best receiver on the team (Ertz leading all receivers in receptions, yards and TDs), that's expendable not essential.
I can never hate on a player trying to make as much money as possible during their short careers.
If he goes he goes, the market determines his value.
But he is lowkey very valuable to us along with Torrey Smith. The stats may not show it but think about it.
Wats the difference in our offense from last year to this year regarding the pass game really. Agholor and DGB arent our outside receivers.
The threat of the deep pass opens alot of things up for Ertz and Agholor underneath as well as the running game. There is a reason why those two are on pace for a career year and the running game is ranked fourth in the league right now.
Its the same reason trash ass Riley KKKooper had his best year when Mesean Jackson was here.
Safeties focus on Alshon deep because 7 out of 10 times he is gonna beat a 1 on 1 for an easy 7. Torrey Smith, there is less of a probability but he is still capable of it and u gotta account for him defensively.
Defensive coordinators are aware of the deep threat that is Torrey Smith and Deep and Jumpball threat of Alshon.
Agholor will beat slot corners one on one and Ertz beat safeties and linebackers one on one easy.
Alshon and Torrey pulls the safeties away from stacking the box on the run game as well.
Its gonna be interesting when we face an elite defense this year (i.e. Seattle and Denver) and how our offense plays against them.
If we react well, we are poised for a long playoff run barring a significant injury to a starter.
