I hear all that but I’m a best player on the board sort of person. But I get the logic of it all.
Yeah but the Bucs meet in the middle with need and best player available

I understand tho cuz Dax Hill was my #1 safety. I like him better that Hamilton, he’s arguably the most versatile slot/db

What we drafting tight ends for when we need defense like nobodies business. Dudes was dropping like flies and we had a patch work mash unit. You would think they would be like let's get coby Bryant but nope they out here drafting tight ends

Everybody knew we were drafting a TE this year. Brate is the only TE on the roster

Even when Gronk re-signs, they need to develop a TE #2 that has higher upside as an in line blocker, that’s Otton.

Trusting rookie DB’s to anchor championship contending teams is always high risk. I thought they did a pretty good job addressing the secondary with Logan Ryan & Keanu Neal

They’re finna bring in some more free agents other than Suh & Gronk after the draft. They just drafted Pinion’s replacement lol so he’s finna get cut and save them a few million dollars

I’m not too mad cuz they drafted my favorite DT in this class, my #4 RB, and Goedeke is a beast I’ve been told. So they’re solidifying the trenches and are getting more explosive

Nothing too flashy, but I liked the draft. I kind of wish we took a DB earlier than we did, but we did fill the need on the defensive line, guard, RB and TE. I think Suh and Gronk will re-sign. I'm OK with the secondary as it is for now because it was kind of a freak season last year where all of them got hurt at the same time. I like Pinion, but he was straight ass last year. Hopefully the punter we drafted can do something, but given Licht's track record for drafting special team players :patrice:

Otton would've been there in the 5th. No one was drafting him. No one had a need at TE

When you have a chance of getting the best corner in the draft you have to take it. Coby was there. They took otton. Seattle got a steal.

Im sick and tired of seeing our corners and safeties getting burned every season.

For once i want us to get a ronde barber back. Somone that shuts guys down and gets picks

Well apparently this Zyon McCollum kid tested out as the most freakishly athletic specimen for a CB in draft combine history. Tested out in the 99th percentile of athleticism and a 10 out of 10 RAS score

Hopefully they can coach him up to live up to his natural ability cuz he’s raw af.

Nawl Otton was a consensus 4th rounder, the real reach was the punter at 133 :francis:

But yeah I understand the frustration, at the same time we have all these high pick draft assets from 2018-2020 in our secondary already. It’s just time for these dudes to step up, half of them have

AWJ is one of the best safeties in the NFL already. CD3 is top 10 CB, easily our best coverage corner, he just needs to learn how to catch and he’ll put himself in the upper echelon discussion.

Jamel Dean showed great improvement and was actually good last year albeit against some weaker QB’s. He just gets lil knick knack injuries and his durability is questionable

Mike Edwards is the ball hawk safety that makes big plays and has probably improved the most. He just couldn’t help himself but to cause huge blown coverages in both Rams games and do dumb shyt like fake vax cards :snoop:but other than that he’s a plus starter

SMB has regressed the most and has been the biggest disappointment. He’s probably playing out of position cuz he’s in the slot and he’s not a slot guy, or at least hasn’t shown the consistency to be. And even with his erratic play, he came up big multiple times for us in the Super Bowl run.

All in all, these nikkas just gotta play better mane. Unless we coulda got a Sauce Gardner, McDuffie or Stingley, then ehh. All the aforementioned dudes on the Bucs are 2nd and 3rd round picks from the last 4 years… all still in their early to mid 20’s

We in win now mode for what’s likely Brady’s final ride. Dean, Murphy-Bunting, and Edwards are in their last year contractually. If dudes don’t perform then the db room gets renovated in the 2023 draft

The lethargic d-line from last year was a bigger issue which has already been improved by addition by subtraction (sorry JPP :yeshrug:)

Which worries me the most. To make the most of this situation its better to draft depth and to NOT get in the situations like what happened last season. Kupp ate us up both times we played last season and Desean Jackson had the one single best game of the season against us and the secondary last year.

If a team has the receivers they exploit us every single time. Its embarrassing since the teams with Receivers(Rams, Chiefs, Packers, Cowboys, Chargers, Saints, Steelers etc) are all national tv games and just rack up yards after yards on the secondary. Guys are having career days when playing this secondary. I'm tired of seeing it. For once I'd like licht to address this and get that secondary locked up. Get some studs in here to shut that down for good.

I hear you, but I think there are already enough studs in the secondary. Well, at least 2 maybe 3. nikkas don’t need to be the legion of boom honestly

The bigger problem imo was the pass rush. The Bucs couldn’t get home with 4 rushers. At times, QB’s was sitting in the pocket calling they wife n kids on the phone before being touched

You can only cover for so long with the way the rules are now. The dudes in the secondary now don’t lack talent, they just gotta get the mental shyt down

The mental lapses we saw against the Rams ain’t the same team we saw in the 2020 playoffs

I was watching some Rachaad White highlights. I'm pretty hyped for this kid. He looks to have pretty solid vision & patience waiting for blocks to develop. Kinda reminds me of LeVeon Bell :ehh:

Finally, we have a deep defensive line again. Might say we can rival the 9ers, Steelers pass rush if JTS is as good as we think he will be and Logan Hall is getting hyped up CRAZY by Bucs players & staff at OTAs

The d line was nice in 2019 & 2020, but age and injuries caught up to JPP and Suh in 2021, and we held on to the elder vets for a season too long… 36 y/o Steve McLendon

We can just use one more depth edge rusher and I’m good

Hicks & Vea on the line next to each other :wow:

I think adding one more edge rusher and LB in case David/White goes down would be perfect.

Yeah that LB depth is thin af. Hearing good things about KJ Britt at OTAs but who knows

If they sign J Houston & Gronk the roster is pretty much set

I'm like 95% sure Gronk will re-sign. I think the only reason he hasn't yet is because he doesn't want to do OTAs/other pre-season activities. Mufukka said last year that he recorded himself sprinting in different shirts & sent it to the team to avoid sprints on different days :russ:
