Neal is a great depth signing for cheap
But I can’t stress this enough, before or after the draft the Bucs needa go get this guy
What else needs to be said? Dawg played for Baltimore last year at 32 years old, he STILL has elite burst off the line and makes tackles look silly, still sets the edge and plays the run at a high level.
4.5 sacks, 24 pressures, 17 QB hits playing 61% of the snaps (second lowest of his entire career)
If you buy into PFF, he had a grade of 77.9 overall, which woulda ranked the 4th best out of all our defensive players in 2021 only behind Winfield Jr., Shaq Barrett, and Lavonte.
Baltimore gave him a one year deal of a $1 million base salary up to $4 million last year.
Jason Licht go get that man and add a D tackle and edge from the draft too
Shiiiet… Trey Flowers still sitting out there too. Bucs better address the D line this next month and some change. We went 13-4 while playing the corpse of JPP giving us nothing
Houston would be our 3rd rotational edge, he’ll still be able to rush on situational downs when they move JTS inside the interior and dominate slower guards
Kinda wished we grabbed Saxton Hill kinda thought him and Winfield would of been a good safety pairingTraded back![]()
And I called it before themPewter Report called this one.
Didn't know much about him, but hearing good things now. Signing Suh is still possible, but if Suh doesn't sign, this is a much bigger deal than most fans realize right real time.
I wouldn’t be mad if they took a swing at Kaiir Elam in the first two rounds
And the more closer the draft comes and I look at the interior defensive lineman prospects, I think Logan Hall out of Houston has become the most intriguing option to me.
If they add about an extra 10 pounds to his frame and coach him up on having disciplined pad level and using leverage he’s gonna be a monster.
You can’t teach that size and length along with his athleticism and explosiveness off the line. Even if you gotta rotate him with a more experienced veteran (Akiem Hicks?) throughout the year similar to JTS last year
I think the kid is honestly worth the risk at 27. Arians & Licht said themselves it was time to break the mold of pure run stuffers & they need more speed & juice rushing the passer
I would’ve taken Hill but I’m a Michigan man. After how shut ended last year I figured you guys would make sure that secondary was legit. The trade back was good value because we only had 6 picks.
Wasn’t really any can’t miss prospects imo that fell to 27 other than Devin Lloyd and Daxton Hill.
They wasn’t gonna take Lloyd as a #3 ILB, and Hill woulda been nasty with AWJ but there’s some good safeties available rounds 2-4.
The secondary is ok if they’re healthy and it doesn’t matter how good they are if they can’t rush the passer.I would’ve taken Hill but I’m a Michigan man. After how shut ended last year I figured you guys would make sure that secondary was legit.
I hear all that but I’m a best player on the board sort of person. But I get the logic of it all.The secondary is ok if they’re healthy and it doesn’t matter how good they are if they can’t rush the passer.
Bucs couldn’t get home consistently with 4 like they did in 2020. JPP being injured and older greatly compromised the entire defense, and we needed quick pass rush up the middle without the need to blitz
They bought in some secondary pieces in free agency and they can still get some before the draft is over.
