Carpenter is not an upgrade IMO...

I watched Seattle/Dallas last year and dude looked like Winters aka a human turnstile...

Should of gave that money to Boling...
I just watched the Boys game. I honesty don't see the poor play he exhibited

he's not an upgrade over winters?

i find that hard to believe :patrice:

i would've liked boling though.
Not that big of an upgrade...

Never good when you hear fans of the team he played for calling him a turnstile...

and like I said I was not impressed with his effort against Dallas...

Carpenter's a better pass blocker than run blocker apparently.

Yeah. I watched his film against the Cowboys where apparently he had a bad game. He did great pass blocking wise. He's more like slausson when it comes to run blocking though. Always a stalemate on the LOS. But PFF said that may have had to to more with the Zone blocking scheme they ran in Seattle which wasn't a fit for him and how he may do better in the Jets power blocking scheme.

Not completely terrible. Experienced, talented, solid qb. That being said, him being signed all but takes Mariota off of our board.

workout took place before the Fitzpatrick signing...

at least were kicking the tires....man what I would give to have a guy like Vinny shake free like he did in 98 for us.

i saw a headline saying fitzpatrick could be our vinny this year. idk enough about fitz to knock him but u never know :ehh:

Vinny was a physical freak...Fitz never had that type of ability unfortunately.

yea but vinny was also interception prone like a mothafukka. if our D plays up to their ability and fitz(or geno) play like chad in that nearly mistake free season then we can go deep.

If we trade down, I'm all for either taking the best pas rusher available (Gregory or Ray) and the best OL available, then RB in the 2nd (Tevin Coleman). Or Gordon/Gurley with the 2nd 1st rounder and then the best OL available in the 2nd

Either opton works for me

We were top 10 in sacks last year and had one of the best running attacks. These metrics don't justify first round investments in a RB or OLB. At worse Coples and IK will get some sacks. What we really need is offensive line and wide receiver help. Therefore I'm for taking a high receiver and guard.
