Perfect answer.

Sounds like he's open to moving down in the draft. Hopefully we can flip that 6 for something more.

For as overwhelmed as Idzik probably was...at least he didnt leave us in a world of shyt cap wise. We've got a lot of flexibility and a high pick.

Which is why it was hard to truly, really, 100% hate Idzik. He may have been a bean counter, but he didn't leave us any worse off than we were before him.

Idzik was ultimately hired as a last ditch effort by Woody to try and keep Rex...didnt work. The last two years feel like a total waste, but at least we cleaned the ledger. Still need to find a friggin QB.

I beg to argue here...

Championship teams get built through the draft and Idzik wasted two entire drafts, 12 picks last year alone...That is substantial damage to an organization in rebuilding mode...He potentially set us back 2 more years from playoff contention...The only good thing Idzik did for this franchise was let bad contracts expire and that isn't a tough thing to do...

Until we find a QB none of this really matters. And we got a few pieces from the first draft. Last years draft was a mess though.

I agree with both of these.

Prophecy is right, he did waste two drafts, but I feel that was more of Woody's hand tying. I doubt that Idzik had reign to fire Bradway and the rest, and to Trip's point, the only reason Idzik even got the job was because he was the only one willing to keep Rex to keep woody happy. Fact is, for all his flaws, Idzik was never put in a position to win.

The 2013 draft wasnt a waste at all...if you acquire an all-pro type talent, that's a win. Aboushi should have been playing over Winters from the jump, but that's on Rex.

And honestly its still too early to tell from last years draft. If Pryor, Amaro can become long term starters you take it.

The thing is, I think people really forgot sometimes how hard it is to build through the draft.

It's a glorified crapshoot

This is true. Granted we've had poor scouting for a while...but there isnt one team in the league that knocks every draft out of the park. Seattle had a run where they hit huge in the middle rounds...it's not common.
