Like that pic. Lawrence is a year older/slower and for a good as an overall DE he is, we need a specialist there. Sam Williams might be one too but he’s a live wire and Armstrong ain’t like that

Exactly. This draft makes ZERO sense outside of Mazi. We're literally drafting players at positions that aren't weaknesses for us. We take a 24/25 year old blocking TE to help with the run game, yet we pass up on the O lineman and we pass up on all the runningbacks. Makes ZERO sense. We draft a project safety to linebacker conversion project. What role is he going to do? Are we moving him back to safety? Then we use another pick on a D lineman who probably will be on the practice squad since we're so log jammed at the position.
yall say this shyt every year. I remember all the crying that was being done about tyler Smith and Sam williams. We saw how that panned out, I think will McClay and the coaching staff deserves the benefit of the doubt because they've got our young guys to contribute early and often.

Schoonmaker blocked alot in Harbough run scheme but he wasn't drafted just for that. He is one of the most athletic TE's in years and has untapped potential as a reciever. Overshown played 3 years linebacker so he isn't a project, he's a chess piece you can move around the formation. Word is Cowboys believe he has untapped edge potential as well as the ability to disguise as a saftety/LB in dime packages. He"ll probably see the field as much as Sam williams last year.

How do feel about him compared to the other OTs, breh?
Seems like ppl like him

He will be our swing tackle in a year or so and possibly have a Terrence Steele-like jump

STRENGTHS: Thick, long-armed build ... plays on his feet and quickly gets into his blocks ... functional kick slide movements on the edge ... adds a little spice to his punch with a decent recoil ... has worked to build up his core strength ... able to lock on and nudge bodies in the run game ... shows measured steps on the move as a reacher, scooper, puller and climber ... has a good feel for sealing the edge on play-side runs ... his technique showed positive progress as a senior compared to what he put on film as an underclassman ... rarely came off the field (1,050 offensive snaps in 2022) ... durable, playing in every game the last three seasons, including 34 straight starts to finish his college career.
WEAKNESSES: Upright out of his stance and late to answer inside moves ... tardy adjusting his angles and needs to do a better job repositioning his hands/feet for improved control once engaged ... his run-blocking reps are very inconsistent (see 2022 Notre Dame tape) and defenders can break his sustain ... struggles to refit underneath his blocks once defenders reach his chest ... needs to get his hips engaged to fully unlock his drive block potential ... his blocking instincts are still a work in progress ... offers marginal experience anywhere except left tackle and looked much more comfortable at tackle than guard during Senior Bowl practices ... only did position drills at the combine because of a right hip injury (March 2023).
SUMMARY: A three-year starter at North Carolina, he lined up at left tackle in former offensive coordinator Phil Longo’s multiple run scheme. He didn’t start playing offensive line until midway through his senior year of high school, but adapted well in Chapel Hill, protecting the blind side of Sam Howell and Drake Maye the last three seasons. Richards appears more comfortable in pass protection where he uses his basketball background and length to square up and occupy rushers. However, his subpar lower-body flexibility and reactive athleticism will be tested versus savvy NFL rushers. Overall, Richards needs development time to become more of a leverage-and-sustain blocker, but things appeared to slow down for him as a senior and he is trending in the right direction. With his traits, a good offensive line coach should be able to turn him into a capable NFL backup or swing tackle.
