Just because they were pushed as the focal point of the movies doesn’t mean Marvel tried to FORCE them down our throats.

the name was just a throwaway comment but its pretty unargauble that marvel did push the avengers like crazy because they didn't have movie rights to the main eventers. The New Avengers run in the mid 00s was the beginning of it from a comic sense.They’ve had that name before the movies.

It’s dope, but I think the Kyle/Yost version is better. If it wasn’t for that run I don’t think this one happens.
that run was big because of the concept and gore. I mean a wet works squad for the x-men really showed that cyclops was moving different. Which was cool but pure storytelling it doesn’t touch Remender’s run. The return to the AoA, Fantomex being a master schemer, Archangel’s entire arch, Deadpool being the heart of the team, Genesis’s reveal, wolverine and daken’s final confrontation, AoA nightcrawler joining the squad and AoA sunfire’s death, Psylocke bossing up like it was the 80s again, the entire run reaches highs that Yost run doesn’t reach and it’s lows are nowhere as bad as that series.

honestly, the black suit was the by far the most memorable thing of it to me.
i feel for the dude that made the black costume. i wonder if he thought of how big that costume would become
i always thought the second one was weaker. but then again, i loved battleworld so i might not be the best judge

honestly, that is a great moment the hulk holding up that mountain but secret wars probably contains the best dr. Doom story ever written in those final three issues
