His defense isn't awful.Thompson isn't dennis rodman he can be boxed out,pau boxes no one out which is the issue and has been the issue all season.Dudes whole post sounds like someone who hasn't watched mirotic play much
TT isn't the Denis Rodman but he's widely regarded as the best offensive rebounder in the NBA and your solution to that is to play a player who's known more for adequate offense than good boxing out. How is Niko not awful on defense? Every metric says he's too weak to guard post players and too slow to guard small forwards. Gibson would be a better option honestly, at least he's athletic enough and plays with a high motor like TT but hey keep believing some soft euro is the answer to your inconsistent play.

You're missing the point bruh. How is tristan thompson gonna guard a stretch 4 who can shoot, take him off the dribble and make plays for others is what you should be asking

If niko was played more it would open up more driving lanes for rose and butler and more space for pau in the post.Defensively I'm not concerned about thompson all he does is rebound taj or noah can guard dude offensively he's trash.I'm talking about thibs having game changing options and not even using them in this series he can be played vs marion, miller, jones

Are you really trying to argue Niko would effectively box out TT on the glass? Or that he plays good defense ?

niko is actually a good rebounder, and he's not bad defensively. he certainly isn't as bad as pau or how :noah: has been playing lately. hell, he might be the bulls 2nd best defender as a big behind taj gibson these days.

When I said he doesn't fit, I meant in this series. I see why Thibs isn't playing Mirotic. Cavs will expose his rebounding and defensively weaknesses

Put that in with gasol playing little defense and noah doing nothing, Cavs will eat. Gibson should get more minutes.

If we're going off of last game, the bulls just weren't able to string together defensive rebounds to stop Cleveland's runs... even with Pau and Noah in there. Pau just wasn't doing it against TT... and Noah despite knowing that James Jones' entire purpose in life is to stand behind the 3point line to shoot an uncontested 3 from the baseline, still gravitated towards the paint every time to leave Jones wide open. There was literally a sequence where Noah did that, Lebron passed it to Jones wide open, Jones missed, TT got the rebound, gave it to Lebron, Noah did it again, Lebron passed it to Jones again, Jones makes it.

So in truth, if the Cavs are going small with James Jones at the 4 (really Lebron, but Butler will be on him), I don't think it's a bad idea for Mirotic to match up with James Jones. At the end of the day, it'll be up to Gasol (or Gibson) to block out TT regardless, and the rest of the bulls to gang rebound.

If not Mirotic then Gibson just needs more minutes over Noah. Right now dude can't hit free throws, can't make layups, doesn't have confidence to finish any post up attempts so he just kinda dribbles in place before stopping and looking for someone to bail him out... I mean, the other Bulls players have to play better too, they shouldn't be off the hook but the Noah issue is just glaring at this point, regardless of if they win or lose games.

There is no logical basketball reason why Mirotic is not playing. You sound like damn fool, and need to stop.

Pau is the worst defensive big on the Bulls roster. Not Mirotic. I had to shyt on my boys for saying the same shyt, Mirotic was only bad on D when he first started the season and would commit p*ssy fouls. Not only does he keep a lot of guys in front of him for spurts on PnR, but he also is decent on the boards and active. Again, shut up.
