Y'all think P should have just dropped one album per month in 98? shoot 2-3 videos off the album?
Someone told me he dropped all those projects because Priority wanted to renegotiate, so he wanted the most money possible
@JustCKing @OHSNAP! @No Hook @NO-BadAzz @Marlo Barksdale

I just touched on that a bit,

That 4th quarter of that year 98, I think he overloaded the market, the CDs still sold but their impact wasn't really felt per say, it wasn't the same impact that was had when these artists Mia and Mystikal came out with their first album.

As I stated 400 degrees took some shine away from those artists. That was a bold move to drop 400 in between those artists like that...P knew it and felt the city waiting on 400, but it was no way he could compete with the anticipation of Juvie's album that year

Ha was taking off too, and that Fall during school, 400 was on everybody's mind, heading into the Thanksgiving break

Back then boot camp from up north came do a show in new Orleans I forgot which club and got beat the fukk up
The other artists(black menace)

Did these songs. Everybody can remember artist would beat up other artist and make songs about it or mocking them.
Mystikal got ran off the stage in Atlanta, that's when we was beefing with them tough

:russ:

Good ole days.

I wonder if it was in Rumors, which I highly doubted

Y'all didn't really like Ghetto Fabolous?
Round Out The Tank
That's The nikka
I'm on Fire
I Smell Smoke
Respect My Mind
Let's Go Do It
What's Your Alias are fire!

I don't get what you mean though, you can tell production wise they were running out of ideas
Yaah
Keep It Hype were just them throwing things at a wall

Disappointing af. Maybe 4,5 cuts that I really like, the rest is ok or some grunts n yelling

Semi-related, P should have released Tank Doggs as a bonus CD for Ghetto Fabulous or Street Life, maybe 10 or less cuts. Better than never releasing it

There literally wasn't time to produce 2 or more videos for every one of the 23 albums in 1998. Also there is only so much a radio/video station could have played back then, can't play 10 NL songs/vids on a regular show

I like that album. For a long time, it was one of my favorite albums. My favorite songs:

Thats The nikka
Life Ain't Cool
I'm On Fire
Stick Up
I Smell Smoke
Respect My Mind

I think dropping 23 albums in 1998 worked to their advantage. No Limit could've rebounded had 1999 finished strong, but P dropped Only God Can Judge Me and it was the last No Limit album for 8 months. It would've been dope to cap off 1999 with the Tank Doggs album and start 2000 with the original 504 Boyz album. Then drop Trapped In Crime (which was scheduled for February 2000 originally).

Agreed, however too many factors derailed the album as 1999 went on:

BBTP and Fiend leaving in late summer. Their last appearance was on Lil Italy's album (worst original NL album imo). Mystikal being a close and loyal BBTP friend didn't help

Snoop being on tour alot (with No Limit from summer on), hooking up with Dre and all kind of different projects/features he was working on. Plus he focused on the Eastsidaz debut

P putting his ego before his business and returning with a solo album instead of releasing other projects/pushing dope new talent (he almost succeeded with Mac, Magic, DIG admittedly), after having the most insane workaholic year in rap history. No way OGCJM was gonna be a great album
