IF P would have okayed the Neptunes/Earthtone 3 production (see Neptunes cut on 504 Boyz, Goodie Mob feature on Bossalinie, Neck Uv Da Woods) and outside features for LGR album on NL, Mystikal would have had the same success. The BBTP/Medicine Men cuts on that album weren't hits, and nobody ever talks about em

Nah P wouldn't let him do his thing solo. He would have had to have himself and c-list artists all over songs.

Plus, P never spent real money on videos and you were lucky if you got one. And you were even luckier if the video played on BET or MTV. Mystikal needed to be a standalone artist with all the attention focused on him. He only had 2 videos on NL and that's a shame.

BBTP's biggest problem was that they got overworked having to rush all their beats. When they had time, they created classic albums like Tru 2 Da Game, Ghetto D & I'm Bout It Soundtrack. It's a shame how many good beats got wasted on c-level artists.

I think the labels gotta send out the certifications to RIAA. If they stop then RIAA dont update it. But idk how it works breh.

Labels have to pay RIAA each time to audit an artist, song or album. That's why you'll see an artist post multiple older songs or albums finally certified at once.

Hasboro most definitely isn't about to pay for them to update the certifications on Death Row albums that have already been certified multi-platinum. It'd be a waste of money really. The Soundscans tell the tale.

No Limit was basically a ponzi scheme. P would get a big advance from Priority everytime he released a record. Tobin Costen, Master P's manager, said that P's gift was his ability to talk record stores into preordering high amounts of records.

That's a big reason why you got the 23 albums in 1998. He'd give the artist a piece of the advance and keep the rest. Then he kept the publishing for many of them (Big P Music).

Well, after about a year, Priority realized they were getting lots of returns of unsold No Limit CDs and weren't recouping.

Priority got new people running it and they came back and sued for $47 mil. Then BBTP weren't getting paid and they had a lawsuit for backpay. P got stretched and didn't make the payments. He had No Limit file bankrupcy in 2003.

So P basically ran off with millions in advances on Priority and did the exact same thing to Universal Records with his New No Limit record label. That's why he's been effectively blackballed and doesn't get honored by the industry.

If this is true, that's super fire. Glad a black CEO did it to one of these big corporations that been fukking artists over for money for years.

P sometimes admits to making some mistakes, or some business going down, but never outright names it. That's what I don't like bout him. He'd never admit blackballing King George, CMR, Magic, Serv, Pastor Troy (kinda understandable but still), BBTP etc (I know C didn't like P blackballing his friends/former NL soldiers). He'd never admit grownman-nappin' Pimp C. He'd never admit doing too many outside ventures that hurt NL's music business in 99
tbh all hip hop moguls do this lol J Prince, Draper, Bird, 50, Jay all do.

I'm hearing KLC didn't want outside production.... @Goldz-n-hoez

Reggie said Snoop sold 10m on death row.. Does that include Dre album? I only see 6m on riaa.com

He said Master P lying by saying only a couple mil to buy Snoop.. He said it was 4.5m.. Did Reggie ever consider that maybe 4.5m is a couple mil to Master P... I don't see lies... I see people with different perspectives of what happened..
he didn't get paid though, if reggie is trying to undercut his success on NL he actually got paid

tbh Reggie doesn't really lie and we all know Snoop makes himself look good, in this instance I would say their is embellishing on both sides (P/DR/Suge/Reggie)

Unlike Snoop; Reggie has been very constant with his recollection of the story. I'm still trying to figure out why would a 17 or 16 year old ray j be locked with with Snoop and Daz

Reggie may not lie but he definitely misleads.. like he said snoop ran to the police.. But everyone else is saying the police was right outside.. Reggie was a police officer with connections so you're telling me that Reggie didn't set this whole shyt up?..Reggie can make paperwork look like anything because he's the fukking police..Mob James was looking at him crazy when he tried to label snoop a rat..

P reminds me so much of Dame. I think their mindset is 100% right. When you hot leverage that shyt in as many avenues as possible to take advantage. But at the same time don't spread yourself too thin that you let the source of it all fall off. With P especially I think he has the right mindset but everything he does comes off so cheap. It was even mentioned by BBTP that P didn't give a fukk about mixing and just trying to pump as much out as possible which eventually taints the brand name or prevents it from blowing up in the first place.

You must not get out to realize how big Shake It Fast alone still is. That post-NL run of hits is the exact reason he still tours and gets features despite the convictions.

Honestly, his NL run had memorable features but it didn't produce any real solo hits for him. "Man Right Chea" is my junt, but it's really a part two of his 2nd biggest Black song, "Here I Go."

Soon as that beat hits on "Here I Go":blessed:

No Mystikal song from his two No Limit albums is gonna get anywhere close to the reaction of Here I Go or his post-NL hits (I Smell Smoke is close tho). Even tho Unpredictable is his best album, he leveled up overall and he wouldn't have been able to do that on NL.

The Man Right Chea goes as well

Right like how is this supposed to discredit P in any way. 2 or 4 what’s the difference. Sound like P overpaid for a lot of shot back then based on the doc.

What I’m getting from ep 3 and 4 is its beat to really concentrate on your business ventures. P had his hand in to many pots and it ducked up the quality of a lot of his ventures. You can’t just put shut out to say you doing somthin. Treat your businesses like your babies
