lol watching that Embedded, Jose is def reacting differently to any fighter i've ever seen him against, he keeps saying & acting like "i've done this before, Conor is nothing blah blah" but seeing him in the conferences & the way he acts when Conor talks to him & does things he's clearly in his head. having said that, obviously no one has ever been THIS disrespectful to Jose. there is always a downfall and i think this could be Aldo's time to lose.

mma brehs is this worth copping?
Yes, it is. The hype is justified. It's a stacked card, with 2 titles on the line. I rarely care to watch live MMA events anymore but I have to see this one live. Detailed breakdown below.

For the main event you have Jose Aldo, a guy that's the best 145 pounder of all time that is on an 18 fight win streak and hasn't lost in over a decade. He's great everywhere, and Conor McGregor's hype is justified, and he's bigger, with a longer reach. He'll be looking to land a hard left. There are guys that are worse match ups for Conor, but Jose still poses a tremendous threat, especially with his leg kicks. Both guys are incredible strikers and have genuine heat. Jose Aldo never uses his jiu-jitsu, but back in the day he beat Cobrinha, who is probably one of the top 10 pound-for-pound jiu-jitsu players of all time. I think that could be the x-factor in this fight. Jose Aldo is a part of team Nova Uniao, which is the team I'm a part of, so I'm rooting for him big time. But I have a really bad feeling about this fight. I have a feeling Conor might take it. I hope not.

For the co-main event, Chris Weidman is still underrated, even after dethroning the Middleweight GOAT in Anderson Silva, knocking him the fukk out and then snapping Sliva's leg in half during the rematch after checking a leg kick. Weidman got the 185 strap in his 10th professional fight, and is 13-0 in MMA. Even with no losses, people think he hasn't really been tested, and Weidman is eager to show he's the man. Luke Rockhold is probably the most dangerous fight for Weidman, and he's on a 4-fight win streak, earning 3 submission of the night bonuses and a knockout of the night bonus in those 4 fights. He destroyed Lyoto Machida in his last fight, who was 3-1 of his most recent 4 fights (the loss coming to Chris Weidman) and Machida is one of the best to ever do it. I'm predicting Weidman because I've been a fan since before he even did MMA, but I really don't know what to expect. Both guys have knockout power, outstanding wrestling, and incredible jiu-jitsu and submissions on the floor.

On the undercard you've got Jacare vs. Yoel Romero. Jacare is 22-3-1 and was a part of the "holy trinity" of jiu-jitsu in the mid 00's. One of the best to ever do it, but also has hard knockout power, and I'm rooting for him to take this victory for his overdue shot at the winner of Weidman/Rockhold. He's getting oklder and if he doesn't win this fight hell probably never get a title shot. Stakes is high. Jacare is on an 8-fight win streak and last lost to Rockhold in 2011. He's finished 7 of his last 8 fights. His opponent, Yoel Romero, is an absolute physical monster, an Olympic silver medalist in freestyle wrestling, and has 5 T/KOs in his last 6 fights, with a pro MMA record of 10-1.

Other notable undercard fights are Demian Maia vs Gunnar Nelson, Maia is maybe the best jiu-jitsu guy in MMA, period. Nelson is also top 5. Hopefully it's an epic ground war. Both guys are coming off big submission wins and looking to plant themselves into the welterweight (170 lbs) title picture. At featherweight you've got the always exciting Max Holloway squaring off against Jeremy Stephens. Urijah Faber is headlining the prelim card and is always an exciting fighter, win or lose.

Conor is dead. :russ:

That face gonna be looking nice and ripe.

Disgust at ufc stripping the gawd. Bet if conor had an injury they'd let him keep the belt as long as it took for him to heal

You fukkin' up, breh.

The Embedded was not very good, imo. Just hype and hilights. I prefer the ones that they do on fight week.

But don't take the footage in there seriously, it's all old. Watch the recent media scrums and or interviews with Aldo and tell me he's not his usual self.

He did mention, though, that Conor and doing that large Promo tour got to him a bit the first time. Now he's chill cause he's done it before

My notifications says this is quoting me but it look like you're quoting someone else? Anyways, if this is addressed to me, I want to be clear that think Aldo will win. I certainly want him to win. He's an extended teammate and from everything I hear, he's ready to kill Conor. I think Conor does provide some challenges and I think it will be a good fight. I did say that I have a bad feeling that something bad will happen, but I think Aldo is going to really dig in on Conor's legs with those kicks.

Firas Zahabi (head coach at Tristar MMA) has a great breakdown posted today that I actually think is as good at building hype as any promo videos I've watched.

conor uttered the name of the octagons grim reaper tryna talk too slick

it's only by the luck of the motherfukkin leprechauns the weightclass divide will keep him safe from jonny bones

shyt he might not even make it out of this next one with legs

he's got some interesting ideas in motion and he's very steady smooth and fluid on his feet

but he doesn't have that pop the fast twitch explosiveness aldo brings is different

but we shall see
