You can kinda see how Joseph Gordon-Levitt is becoming "that dude" in Hollywood, but he isnt exactly "new" either. Same with Gosling, if you had the privilege of watching cheap Canadian pre-teen television growing up

Theyre the go-to "hip" actors, and are getting most if not all of the good Hollywood gigs

Whats funny tho, is that both JGL and Gosling blew up (with the masses) off of slightly unconventional Rom-Coms (500 Days of Summer and The Notebook)

\ yester years..Ryan gosling is a dead eyed cold actor who has zero range. Channing tatum? the less said the better.Kirsten stewart? robert pattinson? all these noobs are lightweights..And you cant tell me bradley cooper is anything to write home about. If u think having a plethora of mediocrity with a hand full of actors with potential is a good indicator of the future of the industry :manny:

United States of Leland

Blue Valentine

Lars and the Real Girl

Hollywood film is basically life-support vegetable status at this point. The safest, most sure-fire profit vehicles are actually Rom-coms and Comic book reboots

The new actors are getting shyt scripts to work with, and are not given a chance to show their talents. The currently successful actors are also getting most of the good Indie scripts first. Its hard out there. Creativity and new ideas and new actors dont mix well with big budgets and established directors and stars. No ones willing to take that risk when the business is transforming like it is now

Do you think have reality tv stars as the most recognizable faces has killed the star power of hollywood. Also those cable shows are killing the game as well.

As far as reality TV...hmm...I dont think they played a part in any of that. I think its mostly because the business model is changing and less big-budget movies are being made, basically the element of "risk" is almost a non-entity at this point. It wont get green-lighted. It just seems....different. A film might bomb at the box office, but be a hit on Netflix. It seems like the business hasnt really figured itself out yet. Theater experiences are basically limited to comic-book/fantasy novel rehashes and Rom-Coms

And youre 120% on point about Cable. Its like getting 10-12 mini-movies and waaay more time for character development and less predictable twists and turns. These shows also require an investment from the viewer. You cant just "tune in" and expect to understand anything
